Batter up! The Yorktown High School Softball Team will be hosting an informational meeting for middle schoolers who might like to try-out for the Spring team — TOMORROW in room 262 at Yorktown right after school. Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by this FRIDAY, October 4th.

Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th. Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!

And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Wielechoski in the office with any questions.

One last thing — TA teachers are still collecting money for student agendas, which were distributed back during the first week of school. Students are asked to please TELL YOUR PARENTS to send in 7-dollars — either cash or check, made out to Williamsburg Middle School. See your TA teacher with any questions.
