- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. We also have WOLF TIME today — which will take place in your TA classroom. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - What are YOU doing after school this year? Williamsburg offers DOZENS of after-school activities for students — ranging from sports to clubs to academic classes. And you can learn all about them at the annual WMS Activity Fair!

We’ve split the event into TWO separate days: Today is for 6th graders, and tomorrow is for 7th and 8th graders — both starting at 3 p.m. in the cafeteria. Students are invited to stop by, meet with coaches and sponsors, and find the best activity for YOU. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions — and we’ll see you at the Activity Fair!!
. - Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “I will change the world by…” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts.

Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 26th. Unleash your inner artist and submit to the PTA Reflections Contest today!!
. - And finally — Today begins our school-wide celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which recognizes the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Over the next few week, WMS will be presenting a series of events and programs about Hispanic heritage — which we hope you’ll find both informative AND entertaining. And to start things off, stay tuned for this Hispanic Heritage Month video — celebrating the diversity that exists all around us — everyday — here in our shared community, and country.
