We begin today with a reminder to all WRESTLERS who are competing in today’s match against Gunston. Please go to the Clinic for your weigh-in immediately following the Morning Announcements. See Mr. Mencarini with any questions.

Calling all students! It’s time to sign-up for next year’s classes!! For 6th and 7th graders — whether you’re staying at WMS or going to the new Dorothy Hamm Middle School next year — your CRF must be turned-in to your counselor by this FRIDAY at the latest. Plus, to any 7th grader who’s transferring to Jefferson or Swanson next year — there will soon be an extra “planning session” with your counselors to help you fill out those Course Request Forms.

As for our 8th graders, your CRFs are due NEXT FRIDAY, February 15th. Be sure to look carefully at all of the courses for any special instructions — as some core and elective classes require additional applications and letters of recommendation. And to everyone in all grades — if you’ve lost your CRF, go get a new one from your counselor ASAP!! If you miss the deadline, you could get stuck with a class that you don’t really want.

Curious about the world, its places, and peoples? Then come to the Geo Club — TODAY during ASP 1 in room WW 9. There will be a special guest this afternoon who will be sharing her experiences from Ethiopia. See Mr. Miller with any questions.

Who wants Pizza? The Model UN Club will be selling pizza and cookies for 2-dollars a plate — this FRIDAY right after school in the main lobby and by the cafeteria! All money raised will go towards scholarships for upcoming conferences and Model UN events. Come hungry!

And finally today — there are a pair of fundraisers to tell you about. First, it’s “Crush for your Crush” — brought to you by the WMS SCA. For just 2-dollars, you can send an anonymous can of Crush soda to your “Crush” — or special someone. Recipients will get their Crush on Valentine’s Day — next THURSDAY — and for just 1-dollar they can learn the identity of their secret admirer. OR — the sender can INSURE the Crush for an extra buck — and the recipient will NEVER KNOW who it came from. To participate, just place stop by the SCA table at lunch starting TODAY until next TUESDAY. See Mr. Tagert or Mr. Peacock with any questions.

Also starting today is the “Have a Heart Campaign” by the WMS Kindness Club. Students and staff are encouraged to donate used towels and blankets that will go to support local animal shelters — and the hundreds of homeless pets they’re trying to get adopted. Donations are being collected in the bin outside of the library, from now until February 22nd. Have a heart and donate TODAY!
