  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Can you believe we’ve been in school for an entire month — and incredibly, we’re just about halfway through the first quarter!  Teachers will be posting mid-term grades next MONDAY, October 4th for all students.  That means if you’ve got any missing assignments or make-up work to do — it’s now or never.  So be sure to check Canvas and StudentVue, and contact your classroom teachers with any questions about your grade.  Get it done, Wolves!!

  • Read any good books lately? The “Talk about Books” Club” — a.k.a. TAB — will be meeting on MONDAY during all grade-level lunches in the library. No need to sign-up; just grab your grub, get a pass, come up to the library, and take a look at these Totally Awesome Books!!  See Ms. Tan in the Library with any questions.

  • Everybody, SING!!!  ACT II CHORUS kicks-off next Monday.  Participants are reminded to bring a pocket folder, water, and your best singing voice!  If you can’t make it on Monday, please be sure to be there for the second class on Thursday.  It’s gonna be a BLAST.  Contact Ms. McTavish with any questions about Act II Chorus.

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Boys Soccer team picked up its first win of the year yesterday — defeating Dorthy Hamm at home by a score of 3 to 1. It was a great team effort, led by 8th grader Owen D. who picked up a HAT-TRICK — scoring all 3-goals — and big assists by 8th graders Owen C., Quinn L., and 7th grader Ian H.  Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap]

  • PRIDE continues with the WMS Tennis team who won their season-opener over Dorothy Hamm yesterday on the Yorktown courts.  Decisive victories coming from 7th graders Nolan B. and Ginger B. in singles; and 8th graders Jonah T. and Chase W. in doubles.  Way to go, tennis Wolves!! [clap]

  • And finally today, this is Banned Books Week — which celebrates our FREEDOM TO READ, and raises awareness about the many books, essays, and publications that face censorship in schools and libraries around the country.
    .
    “Tom Sawyer”, “The Diary of Anne Frank”, a children’s book about Rosa Parks,“Harry Potter”, “The Hunger Games”, and dozens of other titles are being pulled from the shelves.  But Banned Books Week is our chance say — no more.  And now, stay tuned for award-winning author Jason Reynolds — the honorary Chair of Banned Books Week.
