- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7— so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. And don’t forget, all students should go back to your TA for Wolf Time. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Today marks the beginning of National Suicide Prevention Week. It’s a chance for all of us to come together and make a positive difference. This may be a tough topic to talk about, but it is important to spread awareness and check up on one another.
.
This week, our focus will be on raising awareness about the steps we can all take to support our friends, loved ones, and community members affected by suicide. There will be tables outside the cafeteria with information and handouts for students about prevention and awareness.
.
And this WEDNESDAY, we’re asking everyone in our community to wear the colors PURPLE or TEAL to show their support for National Suicide Prevention Day. This simple but powerful gesture will help raise awareness and demonstrate our school’s commitment to mental health and well-being. Thanks for your support, Wolves!!
. - Hispanic Heritage Month is just around the corner — and WMS is gearing-up for a host of activities and celebrations. But we can’t do it without YOU! Any students who would like to help plan the events for Hispanic Heritage Month are encouraged to contact Ms. Wielechowski in room 124 before or after school. Thanks for your help, and for supporting Hispanic Heritage Month, wolves!!
. - And now for an important SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT! A number of students have been riding mopeds and e-bikes to school this year. But unfortunately, some students are not operating these vehicles safely. Students have been seen riding at high speeds, not wearing helmets, and failing to follow basic traffic rules. This is causing a SERIOUS safety risk during arrival and departure times.
.
Due to these concerns, we are asking that students DO NOT ride e-bikes or mopeds to school. Please contact your administrator with any questions about this new policy. Thanks for your help, wolves, and STAY SAFE!
. - Calling all athletes! The fall sports season is here. Girls Ultimate begins TODAY after school. But there are NO TRYOUTS! Girls from all grades and of all experience levels are welcome to play. See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.
. - 2-4-6-8, who do we appreciate? CHEERLEADERS!! Tryouts for Co-ed Cheerleading begins NEXT Monday, September 15th. And if you’re planning to try out for Cheer, you MUST attend one of the clinics this Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday so you can learn the routine. Contact Coach Herb or see Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - And don’t forget that to participate in ANY WMS sport, you MUST scan the QR codes on the the bulletin board outside of the cafeteria. You ALSO need to have a current physical on file. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Contact our Activities Coordinator, Ms. Hogwood, for more information about QR codes, physicals, or with any other questions about school sports.
