- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Could your parents survive a day in Middle School? We’ll soon find out! THURSDAY is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT at WMS, from 7 to 9pm. Parents will be virtually “walking in your shoes” — as they follow your daily schedule, meet your teachers, and tour the school. So go home and tell your folks — come to Back to School Night on Thursday — and be a Part of the Pride!
. - Due to Back to School Night, all other after school sports and activities will be CANCELLED on Thursday. There is NO late bus, and students should make sure they have transportation home. Again, there is no late bus on Thursday.
. - Listen up, tennis team! There is NO PRACTICE on Thursday. Your next practice will be next MONDAY, right after school at the Yorktown tennis courts. This is your LAST PRACTICE before your FIRST MATCH on Tuesday, so come ready to play! See Coach Seeger with any questions.
. - The WMS Intramural Program begins next MONDAY during ASP 2 — and will continue throughout the year on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. All students are welcome to join in the fun, led by our AMAZING PE teachers: Ms. Szwed and Ms. Stankus. Get ready to PLAY!!
. - And also starting next Monday — the WMS Library will be OPEN to students after school during both ASP 1 and ASP 2. Students are welcome to check out books, find a good read, do some homework, or talk quietly with friends. But please be advised that library rules still apply: no food, no gum, no phones. See your school librarians with any questions.
. - Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th. Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!
. - Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. See your grade-level counselor for more information — and be sure to register by October 4th.
