  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is an A-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • The SOLs keep rolling along!  Tomorrow morning, 7th graders will be taking their Civics and Economics test; while 8th graders will be taking their Science test.  Meanwhile, 6th graders will have an extended Team Time until testing is over.  See your grade-level counselor or TA teacher with any questions about tomorrow’s test. And good luck!!
    .
  • And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon!  Students will be taking their SOLs using their school-issued iPads — so they need to be working!  If you are having any issues with your iPad — whether it’s password problems, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, or ANYTHING else — please submit the online “Student Tech Help Request” form through the WMS website.  Ms. Solomon’s got the solution to getting you back online!
    .
  • Attention 6th and 7th graders! Next year, WMS will be creating its first ever group of STUDENT AMBASSADORS!  Ambassadors will represent our school at special events and help to build a positive community within our shared environment. Interested students are encouraged to get an application from the main office or in your grade-level school counseling Canvas course.  The application deadline is this FRIDAY.  See Ms. Kenney or your class counselor with any questions about the Student Ambassadors.
    .
  • Calling all rising 8th and 9th graders! The Yorktown Colorguard will be hosting open houses this TUESDAY and THURSDAY from 6 to 8pm outside of the the Yorktown High School main entrance. Colorguard combines music, dance, flag and sabre spinning in a fast-paced and spirited performance.  No experience is necessary.  Interested students are encouraged to come check it out!
