• Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

• WHAT ARE THOSE??? As part of our school’s commitment to sustainability, Williamsburg is supporting a Sneaker Recycling Program called “Got Sneakers!!” So if you have any old shoes lying around, please donate them to “Got Sneakers” by dropping them off in room 233. See Mr. Sundwick with any questions.

• And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic!  It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE!  First — WASH YOUR HANDS!!  Second — Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  And third — if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME.  Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread.  See our school nurse with any questions.

• And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Stokes-Beverley and Ms. Hwang!  Your school-issued iPad is critical to your instruction here at WMS. Please remember that you are expected to bring it to school EVERY DAY and FULLY CHARGED.  And if there’s anything wrong with it, please tell your TA teacher so they can notify technology support. They’ll have you back online in no time!!

• If a picture is worth a thousand words — then the WMS Yearbook is absolutely PRICELESS!  The 2025 Yearbook is on sale NOW!  It costs 47-dollars to buy — and you can order online by going to the WMS website.  But fewer than 100 copies remain in stock — so make sure to get YOURS before they’re gone.  Contact Ms. McFerran with any questions.  Don’t miss out on the memories!

• Calling all film-makers, journalists, and video-jockeys! The 13th annual Arlington Student FilmFest is now accepting entries for its 2025 competition. The application deadline is this SATURDAY, and the Film Festival is scheduled for April 30th at Wakefield High School. To participate, just follow the link located in the Morning Announcements Blog, or contact Mr. Schonfeld and he’ll walk you through the application process.  Now go make some movie magic!

• Ready, set, READ!! The 9th annual March Madness Tournament of Books is going strong! This year’s contenders are a mix of the most checked-out books from the library AND recommendations from the TAB Club.

  Hundreds of students cast their vote in the Sweet-16 last week.  And now, we’ve made it to the Elite-8.  Here’s how to participate:  Just go to the WMS Library Canvas Course and cast your vote.  We’ll announce the results next week.  And remember:  the TA in each grade with the best bracket will win a prize — so make your vote count!  The March Madness Tournament of Books — may the best book win!!

• And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS Swim Team competed against Gunston Middle School at the Wakefield Pool last week, and they did GREAT!!  Our swimmers competed in over 25-heats — showing incredible stamina, determination, and sportsmanship.

  Big shoutout to 8th graders Frederick P. and Emmy S.; 7th graders Grant N. and Emmett C.; and 6th graders Blake L. and Maddie N. for their amazing races.

  The coaches also want to congratulate 8th graders Joe D. and Tyson W.; 7th grader Grace R.; and 6th grader Keegan L. for their incredible flexibility and enthusiasm.  Way to go, water wolves!! [clap]
