The Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and ‘30s had an enormous impact on this country — drawing from African American music, culture, fashion, dance, and so much more. One of the most influential people during the Harlem Renaissance was Ella Fitzgerald — a multi-talented jazz figure known as the “First Lady of Song” and the “Queen of Jazz.” Throughout her career, Ella Fitzgerald won numerous accolades, including FOURTEEN Grammy Awards and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
