- Due to the late start today, we will be following a modified C-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — but TA ends at 10 a.m., and classes are a little shorter than usual. And remember, there is NO Wolf Time today. Again, this is a modified C-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all ANIME-niacs! The WMS Anime Club is meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in Room 109. Participants will be planning for their upcoming Valentine’s Day party. Plus, they’re having a “Shipping Wars” contest, and the best drawing will win a prize! It’s going to be ANIME-zing!! Contact Ms. Armistead with any questions.
. - Calling all sports fans!! The WMS girls basketball team is playing TODAY against Jefferson Middle School at 3:30pm in the main gym. But to be eligible for the drawing, you MUST submit your Wolf Paws by this THURSDAY. Once again, the rescheduled Wolf Paw drawing is next MONDAY, but you must submit your Paws by this THURSDAY to participate. Good luck, Wolves!
. - This week is National School Counseling Week, and the theme is “School Counselors Amplify Student Success.” If you see your counselor in the hall this week, please be sure to thank them for all they do — or maybe even write them a card or send them a message in Canvas.
. - Attention Wolf Pack!! February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of African Americans. But we need your help! If you’d like to help plan our Black History Month activities, please complete the Google Form titled “Black History Month” located in Canvas by next Friday, February 13th. See Ms. Monroe with any questions.
. - And now it’s time for Black History Month TRIVIA. Listen closely, because we’ll be testing you on these at the end of the month. And whichever grade gets the most correct answers will earn bonus points for the WMS Pep Rally this Spring. Here we go!
.
Black History Month was founded in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson. Originally from Virginia, Carter G. Woodson was an African American author, historian, and journalist. Woodson chose February for Black History Month to acknowledge the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. This year marks its 100th anniversary.
