  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule.  That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is a B-Day.  See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Attention all 6th graders on the Exploratory Wheel!  This week, you will be rotating to your new exploratory class. So be sure to check StudentVue to make sure you know where to go.  Again, the new Wheel classes for 6th graders begin today.

  • Calling all MUNNERS! The Model UN Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP I in room C105.  Participants will be working on the World Food Program scenario, and discussing the upcoming spring conferences.  All are welcome to attend!  See Mr. McDermott with any questions.

  • Attention all 7th and 8th grade science fair winners! If you are participating in the Arlington Regional Science Fair this weekend, you need to meet with Ms. Willet during lunch on Wednesday. Just get your lunch and bring it to room 107.  Once again, Science Fair participants need to meet with Ms. Willet during lunch on WEDNESDAY.

  • And now for a technology tip from Ms. Solomon!  The 8th grade Writing SOLs are scheduled for NEXT WEEK — so your iPad NEEDS to be working.  All students are asked to make you’ve updated to iOS 16.2.  And if you’re having any other issues, whether it’s password problems, your battery won’t charge, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, or ANYTHING else — please submit the online “Student Tech Help Request” form through the WMS website.  Ms. Solomon’s got the solution to getting you back online!

  • It’s nearly time once again for Parent-Teacher Conferences! Conferences will be held “Arena style” on THURSDAY from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and on FRIDAY from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Tell your parents that they can meet with ONE or ALL of your classroom teachers. No appointments are necessary, but meetings are limited to 5 minutes each. Parents and teachers together — what could be better than that?!

  • What’s Up, Duloc? The WMS Theater Department will be hosting a Bake Sale Fundraiser during Parent-Teacher conferences this FRIDAY outside of the library from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. There will be snacks, baked goods, and plenty of coffee. And all proceeds will go to support our upcoming Spring musical:  Shrek, Jr!!  So tell your folks to bring some cash, and help us make the show Shrek-tacular!

  • March Madness Tournament of Books, 2023 -- Sweet 16And finally — the 7th annual March Madness Tournament of Books is about to begin!  Doesn’t it seem like every new TV show or movie was inspired by a book? Well, this year’s March Madness will be focusing on the source material – the books themselves!

    Here’s what to do:  work as a TA to create your own Sweet-16 bracket and submit them by March 8th.  Then every week you’ll get to vote — and the winning TA will get a prize!  Voting begins next Monday. For more information, go the library Canvas course.  May the best book win!!
