Calling all MUNNERS! The WMS Model UN Club is meeting TODAY in room C105 during ASP I. Participants will be practicing their presentation and speaking skills, and selecting country assignments for next month’s conference. See Mr. McDermott with any questions.

WHAT ARE THOSE??? As part of our school’s commitment to sustainability, Williamsburg is supporting a Sneaker Recycling Program called “Got Sneakers!!” So if you have any old shoes lying around, don’t throw them away!! Instead, from now until the end of the year, please donate them to “Got Sneakers” by dropping them off in room 233. Again, bring your old shoes to room 233. See Mr. Sundwick with any questions.

And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Stokes-Beverley and Ms. Hwang! Your school-issued iPad is critical to your instruction here at WMS. Please remember that you are expected to bring it to school EVERY DAY and FULLY CHARGED. And if there’s anything wrong with it, please tell your TA teacher so they can notify technology support. They’ll have you back online in no time!!

Attention all fans of high school sports!! Throughout the year, Yorktown High School will be hosting numerous games and tournaments after school. But unless you’re a member of the team, you MUST be escorted by a parent or responsible adult. Otherwise, you will NOT be allowed inside. This policy goes for all APS schools. Once again, you must have an adult present to attend high school sports.

And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to the 23 WMS singers who participated in the District Honors Choir this past weekend at Marshall High School.

They spent their whole Friday and Saturday learning music, and collaborating with other singers from Arlington and Fairfax counties. And then they put on an INCREDIBLE show for the community! Way to go, singing wolves! [clap]

And now, it’s time for “Black History Month — That’s a FACT!!”

Today’s fact is about a magazine called “Successful Black Parenting.” It was the first NATIONAL print magazine for African American parents, published between 1993 and 1998. It won numerous awards, and high praise from readers all over the country. And in 2017, it re-launched as an ONLINE publication. And That’s a Fact!!
