- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all students! There will be a special Humanities assembly TODAY for all grade levels in the auditorium. Here’s the rundown: 8th grade at 8:20am; 7th grade at 10am; and 6th grade at 1:20pm. Students should leave all of their belonging in their classroom before going to the auditorium. And please remember to be respectful towards the performers. Enjoy the show!!
. - Hey, Williamsburgers! Do you think you’re funny? Then PROVE IT!! If your TA would like to tell a joke on the Morning Announcements, just ask your TA teacher to sign-up using the GoogleForm that went out this week. But spots are filling up fast, so be sure to register before it’s too late. See Mr. Schonfeld with any questions. Ba Boom, Ching!!
. - Calling all scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians!! If you are participating in VJAS — the Virginia Junior Academy of Science — there will be a meeting on TUESDAY during FLEX in room 115. Please see Ms. Warden to get a pass. Once again, the next VJAS meeting is Tuesday during FLEX.
. - Calling all native-Spanish speakers! If you speak Spanish at home, then you could EASILY earn a special “Seal of Bi-literacy” on your high school diploma. Just sign-up for the “Spanish for Fluent Speakers” class on your Course Request Form — and you’ll be on your way! The class is open to all 7th and 8th graders. See Ms. Sicer or Mr. Luengo for more information – and be sure to turn-in your CRF!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS wrestling team traveled to Swanson yesterday and lost a tough one — 63 to 22. But the Wolves still won four matches, and had great performances from 6th graders Sergio S and Whitaker C. Way to go, wrestling Wolves!! [clap].
.
Up next wrestling, after going 4 and 1 on the season, the team heads to the County Championship next Thursday— looking for one last win. Good luck, wolves!!
. - Wolf Pack Pride continues with the Boys Basketball team. It was a tough week for the Wolves, with a 45 to 47 overtime loss to Dorothy Hamm on Tuesday, and a 34 to 44 loss to Swanson yesterday.
.
But the team played HARD! Matt L had 24 points in both games; James D. had 23 points and a HUGE slam dunk; Sam R had 14 points; Nate R had 10 takeaways; and Danny S was always there to get the rebounds. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]
. - And finally, it’s Random Acts of Kindness Day, a chance for everyone to focus on being “kinder” to one another. Because sometimes — even the smallest acts of kindness can have a HUGE impact on the world around us.
.
Stay tuned for a short video about the power of being kind. Roll Tape!!
