- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7. Also, there are NO WOLF TIME classes today, so all students should go back to their TA classrooms for Wolf Time. Once again, this is an A-Day and there is no Wolf Time. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - ATTENTION all 6th graders in Mr. Schonfeld’s “Making Movies” Wolf Time class! You will be meeting for a special screening party TODAY during Wolf Time. And be sure to bring the iPad you’re using to edit your short film. Once again, Mr. Schonfeld’s “Making Movies” Wolf Time class — and ONLY Mr. Schonfeld’s Wolf Time class — is meeting TODAY during Wolf Time.
. - WHAT ARE THOSE??? As part of our school’s commitment to sustainability, Williamsburg is supporting a Sneaker Recycling Program called “Got Sneakers!!” So if you have any old shoes lying around, don’t throw them away!! Instead, from now until the end of the year, please donate them to “Got Sneakers” by dropping them off in room 233. Again, bring your old shoes to room 233. See Mr. Sundwick with any questions.
. - And now, we’ve got an important update about the 2nd Quarter Wolf Paw Drawing! The drawing has been RESCHEDULED for this FRIDAY. Prizes are now on display outside of the library. There’s some great stuff in there, so be sure to take a look. Once again, the rescheduled Wolf Paw drawing is this FRIDAY.
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to the our Wolfbots Robotics teams for doing an amazing job at their competition over the weekend.
.
Out of 55 teams, our 8th graders finished in 22nd place, while our 7th graders finished in 7th place. As of now, our 7th graders could still qualify for the State competition later this year. Way to go, robotics wolves!! [clap]
. And now, it’s time for “Black History Month — That’s a FACT!!”
.
Today’s fact is about the Savoy Big Five, an all-black basketball team that took Chicago by storm in 1927 — at a time when professional basketball was still segregated. A few years later, the Savoy Big Five became the Harlem Globetrotters, and have WOWED audiences ever since. And That’s a Fact!!
.- And finally — Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Thanks to all the students and staff who dressed up like a superhero to mark the occasion. Because KINDNESS is like a super-power — it’s a simple act that can make an ENORMOUS difference to the people all around us.
.
We encourage EVERYONE to use your powers for GOOD today — by telling someone how SUPER they are! Kindness promotes a positive environment, and makes the world a better place. And now, stay tuned for this special video about the power of being KIND.
