- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Attention all TAs!! Smile for the camera! Over the next few weeks, the WMS Yearbook Staff will be taking TA pictures of the entire school! Here’s the schedule: 8th grade TAs will be TODAY and Friday. And any make-ups and retakes will be scheduled for next week. Yearbook photographers will come to your room to take the picture. Contact Mr. Schonfeld with any questions — and say CHEESE!!
. - The WMS Gender and Sexuality Alliance is getting T-SHIRTS!! GSA members must place their T-shirt orders by next MONDAY at the latest. Contact Mr. Bell or Ms. Bleakley for more information or with any questions.
. - Calling all Divers and Swimmers! If you’d like to compete in the upcoming season, your physical must be submitted by next MONDAY. And don’t forget to complete the online google form by February 22nd — located on the swim page of the WMS website. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - And now for a “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon! If you are having any problems with your school-issued iPad — whether it’s password problems, not connecting to the internet, glitching apps, cracked screens, or ANYTHING else — please submit the online “Student Tech Help Request” form through the WMS website. Ms. Solomon’s got the solution! So submit today — and get yourself back online.
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE! The WMS Girls Basketball Team hosted Jefferson Middle School on Tuesday and cruised to their first win of the season — 38 to 4!! Fiona and Ainsley were absolutely LOCKED-IN of defense; while Abby and Rea were the offensive stars of the game.
.
Congrats to the entire team. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]. WMS has a rematch scheduled against Jefferson TODAY on the road. Let’s win two in a row, wolves!!
. - And finally, February is Black History Month — a time to reflect on the inspiring women and men who helped make this country great. Here’s an interesting fact: Remember the movie “The Hunger Games”? The character of Rue was portrayed by child-actor Amandla Stenberg — who ROCKETED to stardom following its release.
.
But they have proven to be so much more than just an actor. Amandla — who identifies as non-binary — is an outspoken activist for the LGBTQ+ community and was named one of Time Magazine’s “Most Influential Teens” in 2015! To learn more about the incredible contributions of African Americans throughout history, be sure to check out our display in the WMS Library!
