We’re starting things off today with a special guest here at the WOLF-TV studio, with some important information for all of our theater-lovers out there.

MAC: Good morning, Wolf Pack!! I’m Ms. Maconaughey, the Theater teacher, and I’ve got some BIG news for you!! Auditions for the Spring Musical are coming soon! And today, I’d like to reveal the name of the show. The Williamsburg Middle School 2024 Spring Musical is: LEGALLY BLONDE, JUNIOR!! That’s right – it’s been a movie, it’s been a Broadway play, and now it’ll be performed right here at WMS.

I hope you’re as excited as I am! If you’d like to be a part of Legally Blonde, Junior, here are a few things you need to know. First and foremost, the school play is a CLASS and you get a grade for it on your report card. So if you choose to participate, it is a SERIOUS commitment.
.
We need actors, singers, dancers, choreographers, stage managers, lighting and audio technicians, costume, make-up, and set designers, props, public relations staff, and more! Auditions will be held after school on January 16th. Callbacks to follow. Both performers and Tech Crew DO need to tryout.

Interested students should scan the QR code posted outside of the Theatre classroom – room 228 – and complete the attached application. And if you have any other questions about Legally Blonde, Jr., please stop by and see me!

Today we will be following the BLUE DAY schedule. That means we start with an extended TA until 8:25. During this time, teachers may request to meet with students for individualized help and instruction. Otherwise, students will remain in their TAs and use this extra time to organize, study, or read! After that, you’ll proceed to periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a BLUE day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

The Anime Club will be hosting its first annual Trivia Holiday Party TODAY during ASP 1 in room 109. Make sure you’re ready to test your Anime knowledge, win some prizes, and have some fun! Contact Ms. Armistead with any questions.

Give a “helping hand” to those in need! Today is the LAST DAY of the WMS Helping Hands holiday gift drive — benefiting the young patients at Virginia Hospital Center Pediatrics. Please leave your UNWRAPPED and UNOPENED presents in the collection bin located in the main lobby. Thank you for your support and generosity!

Show someone you care this holiday season and get them a Candy Gram! Candy Grams cost just 1-dollar each, and you can order them through your TA teacher from now through Friday. Candy Grams will ALSO be on sale tomorrow morning outside of the cafeteria before school. They’ll be delivered to the person of your choice before Winter Break. And all proceeds will benefit the WMS Best Buddies Club. See Ms. Taylor with any questions about Candy Grams. Happy Holidays!!

’Tis the season to be LUCKY! The Anime Club is hosting a Holiday Raffle!! The grand prize is a professional 100-piece sketching kit donated by the New York School of Art. Tickets are just 1-dollar each, and may be purchased during ALL grade-level lunches OR with School Cash Online by scanning the QR code posted around school. But you must get your ticket by this FRIDAY to be eligible for the drawing on December 19th. Happy raffle, and may the odds be ever in your favor!!

And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to the boys basketball team for defeating Kenmore yesterday and taking the COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP for the first time in about 10 years!

Big shout out to all of our 8th graders who just played their last game for WMS — Alex, Jay, Jesse, Luke, Matt, Garon, Danny, Isaac, Lucas, Bennett, Sam and Max — and to the entire team for a sensational season. Way to go, baller Wolves!! [clap]

And finally, last month, the WMS PTA hosted the FALL FESTIVAL — and it was a BLAST!!
