- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - All the best books are on sale NOW!! The Annual WMS Book Fair begins TODAY in the WMS library. All students will get a chance to visit the Book Fair with their English and Reading classes, but you may also go before TA, during lunch, and after school. Thanks for supporting WMS Book Fair — and we hope you find the perfect book for YOU!!
. - Who’s hungry?! Tomorrow, December 2nd, the WMS PTA will be teaming up with Lebanese Taverna for a restaurant fundraiser! You can order from either the Washington Boulevard or Old Dominion Drive locations. Just mention the fundraiser when ordering, and 20-percent of your purchase will be donated to our school. Thanks for your support, wolves!!
. - Cupcake Wars are back — and YOU get to be the judge! This WEDNESDAY after school, bakers from the 8th grade Family and Consumer Science class will be selling their cupcakes outside of the cafeteria. Cupcakes are just 2-dollars each — cash only — and whichever baker sells the most cupcakes: WINS! See Ms. McFerran with any questions. And enjoy the cupcakes!
. - Did you miss Picture Day last month, or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is scheduled this FRIDAY in the Auxiliary Gym. If you never got a picture this year, then you can just go on down. But if it’s a retake, you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Dr. Koval with any questions. And say cheese!
. - ’Tis the season to be GIVING! The WMS Helping Hands Club is collecting toys for local families in need. Donation bins will be located in the main lobby and by the cafeteria from now through next Monday, December 8th. Just make sure your donated items are NEW and UNWRAPPED. You may also donate gift cards to online or retail stores. But please — no stuffed animals, nor toys resembling weapons. Thanks for helping the Helping Hands Club Toy Drive!!
. - Calling all athletes! The winter sports season is just around the corner, with co-ed wrestling and girls basketball scheduled to begin next month. But to participate, you MUST have a current physical on file — and sign-up using the QR code — by Friday, December 19th. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
.
And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to the TWENTY WMS band students who were selected for this year’s APS Honors Band. They will be performing with some of the best musicians in Arlington County at a special concert next January at Wakefield High School.
.
Thanks to everyone who auditioned, and GOOD LUCK at your concert. Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
