- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Did you miss Picture Day last month, or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck! Because TODAY is “Picture Make-Up Day” in the Auxiliary Gym. But remember: if you’re getting a retake, you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And if you don’t get your picture taken at all, then please be aware that you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Ms. Johnson with any questions. And say cheese!
. - Calling all students!! Please bring your iPads to PE today for a special Counseling Health lesson. Once again, everyone should bring your iPad to PE.
. - ’Tis the season to be LUCKY! The Anime Club is hosting a Holiday Raffle starting TODAY during 6th grade lunch, and next week during ALL grade-level lunches! The grand prize is a professional 100-piece sketching kit donated by the New York School of Art. Tickets are just 1-dollar each, and may also be purchased with School Cash Online by scanning the QR code posted around school. The drawing is scheduled for December 19th, and all proceeds will support the Anime Club. Happy raffle, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
. - All the best books are on sale NOW!! The Scholastic Book Fair is OPEN for business from now through December 13th in the WMS library — before TA, during lunch, and after school on most days. The Book Fair will also be open in the evening before-and-after the Winter Concerts. See our school librarians for more information. And thanks for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair!!
. - Give a “helping hand” to those in need! The WMS Helping Hands Club is hosting a holiday gift drive benefiting the young patients at Virginia Hospital Center Pediatrics. They ESPECIALLY need presents for teenagers. For gift ideas, just go online to the VHC Amazon Wishlist. Gifts should be UNWRAPPED and UNOPENED, and you can leave them in the collection bin — located in the main lobby — between now and December 13th. THANK YOU for your support and generosity!
. - Show someone you care this holiday season and get them a Candy Gram! Candy Grams cost just 1-dollar each, and you can order them through your TA teacher from now through December 15th. They’ll be delivered to the person of your choice before Winter Break. And all proceeds will benefit the WMS Best Buddies Club. See Ms. Taylor with any questions about Candy Grams. Happy Holidays!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The boys basketball team had an INCREDIBLE come from behind win against Gunston yesterday to take back FIRST PLACE in the county. The entire team worked extremely hard at practice after Wednesday’s early release day to prepare — and it paid off!!
.
Team Captain Danny S. was the leading scorer, and every single player contributed to the biggest win of the season. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]
. - And finally — HAPPY HANUKKAH!! Yesterday at sundown marked the beginning of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, celebrated by people of the Jewish faith all over the world.
.
But how much do you actually know about this 2-THOUSAND year old tradition? This next video tells the story.
