  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • And now for an important announcement for all 6th graders on the Exploratory Wheel — TODAY and TOMORROW you will be rotating to your NEW exploratory class. Staff members will be stationed throughout the halls this afternoon to help you find your way — but please do your best to be ON TIME. Again, the new Wheel classes for 6th graders begin TODAY.

  • Read any good books lately? The “Talk about Books” Club” — a.k.a. TAB — will be meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches in the library. So grab your grub and come take a look at these Totally Awesome Books!!

  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 216. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, and hone your problem solving skills. And this year, Math Counts is partnering with AMC-8!  It’s all math, all the time at Math Counts! See Ms. Janney or Mr. Mencarini for more information.

  • Attention technology Wolves!  The Technology Student Association — a.k.a the TSA — will NOT be meeting this week.  But Wolfbots Robitics WILL be meeting as usual.  Once again, there is no TSA; but there IS Wolfbots.  See Mr. Dudek with any questions.

  • Calling all scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians!!  The Virginia Junior Academy of Science — a statewide “STEM” competition — is gearing up for 2022!  7th and 8th graders who are interested in turning their science projects into research papers and participating in VJAS are invited to an interest meeting this THURSDAY in room 115 during 8th grade Wolf Time OR 7th grade lunch — and you can bring your food!  See Ms. Warden with any questions.

  • It’s better to GIVE than to RECEIVE! The WMS Orchestra is partnering with Toys for Tots for a Holiday Toy Drive!  NEW or GENTLY USED gifts may be dropped-off in the donation bins located outside of the Library and Auditorium from now through December 16th. So show your WOLF PACK PRIDE and donate to the Toy Drive TODAY!!

  • Show someone you care this holiday season and place your order for a Candy Cane Candy Gram — benefiting the WMS Best Buddies Club. Candy Grams are just 1-dollar — and you can get the order form from your TA teacher.  Just be sure to purchase your Candy Gram by December 10th — and they’ll be delivered to the person-of-your-choice on December 15th.  See Ms. Nance with any questions.   • We have a programming change to tell you about — due to a scheduling conflict, the after-school screening of “Elf” has been postponed until further notice.  We’ll update you about the new time and date as soon as we have the information.  Again, the screening of “Elf” has been postponed.

  • Do you have the skills to compete in the Digital Age?  This week, APS is participating in the worldwide celebration of the “Hour of Code!”  This global event is teaching MILLIONS of kids the basics in computer coding — and preparing them for a successful future.  Check it out!!

  • Superhero Countdown, 2021 -- Championship RoundAnd finally — We’ve reached the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND of the WMS Library’s SUPERHERO COUNTDOWN!!  And the finalists are:  AVENGERS: Endgame versus THOR: Ragnarok! Which super-powered blockbuster will reign supreme?
