  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all math lovers!! Math Counts is meeting TODAY during ASP1 in room 205.  Participants will work through challenge problems, play math games, and more! All are welcome!  See Ms. Miller with any questions.
    .
  • Attention all students!  Please be aware that the library will be CLOSED after the final bell today.  Once again, if you’re staying after school today, the library will be CLOSED.
    .
  • Did you miss Picture Day last month, or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck!  Because “Picture Make-Up Day” is coming next week — now scheduled for FRIDAY, December 8th in the Auxiliary Gym.  But remember: if you’re getting a retake, you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And if you don’t get your picture taken at all, then please be aware that you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Ms. Johnson with any questions. And say cheese!
    .
  • Calling all athletes!! If you’d like to participate in Girls’ Basketball or Co-Ed Wrestling this winter, you MUST have a physical on file by TUESDAY, December 19th.  Wrestling practices and Girls Basketball tryouts both begin on January 2nd.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
    .
  • Book Fair, 2023Get ready for a book bonanza!! The PTA Scholastic Book Fair is coming to WMS — starting December 6th in the WMS Library.  Students will be visiting the Fair with their English and Reading classes, but you may also go before TA, during lunch, and after school on most days. The Book Fair will also be open in the evening before-and-after the Winter Concerts.
    .
But the BEST part about the Book Fair is seeing your PARENTS working the cash register! Please tell your families that the PTA needs more volunteers.  Just go to WMSPTA.org to sign up.  And as an added bonus, every volunteer has a chance to win 100-dollars in Scholastic Book Bucks!  See our school librarians for more information. And thanks for supporting the Scholastic Book Fair!!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS boy’s basketball team defeated Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Tuesday by a score of 41 to 23. With the win, our team remains UNDEFEATED on the season, with a perfect 6 and 0 record.
    .
Big props to Lucas — our leading scorer with 16 points — and to the entire team for an outstanding game.  Way to go, baller Wolves!!  [clap]
    ..
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS girls soccer team — who won another great game against T.J. on Tuesday:  1 to nothing.  The final score may have been close, but the Wolves DOMINATED possession throughout, and TJ couldn’t get ANYTHING going.
    .
Big props to 8th grader Giliana R. for scoring the game-winner, and 8th grader Katie P. with the assist.  Way to go, soccer Wolves!! [clap]
    .
  • Up next for WMS sports, we’ll be hosting Gunston Middle School today for Basketball AND soccer — both starting at 3:30pm.  Students and staff are encouraged to pack the stands and root them on to victory!  And while you’re there, be sure to stop by the concession stand for some snacks and sweet treats!
    .
And if you plan on taking the LATE BUS today after the Basketball or Soccer games, please make sure to be at door number-4 by 4:30pm.  Once again, the late bus is leaving at 4:30pm.  Don’t get left behind!!
