  • Attention Model UN! There is a very important meeting TODAY for all members. And for those students going to McMUN and HAMUN this coming weekend — your attendance is MANDATORY! Be sure to bring your iPad, and see Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
  • Hey 7th grade — are you ready to PARTY?! The 7th Grade “Oktoberfest” is TODAY after school in the cafeteria. Come for music, dancing, snacks, games and prizes. Don’t forget your “lederhosen!”
  • The WMS Tennis Team is invited to an end-of-year tennis party — TODAY during ASP 1 in Mr. Seeger’s room. Be sure to bring your WMS tennis shirt — CLEANED and FOLDED please!! — and a few dollars for pizza!
  • Attention WMS Cheerleaders! Cheer practice is CANCELLED for today — but will resume next week. Again, no cheer practice today.
  • Calling all Math-Lovers!! “Math Counts” kick-off TODAY during lunch and after school. The lunch locations are: 6th graders in room 203; 7th graders in room 134; and 8th graders in room WW3. The after school location is WW4 for all students. Hooray for math!!
  • The deadline for the PTA Reflections Contest is TOMORROW. The theme is ‘What is your Story?” Let’s see what you can create!
  • “Saturday Science Help” will take place THIS SATURDAY from 8:30 to 11:30 A.M. in the Science Trailer. 7th and 8th grade students are encouraged to attend. Just be sure to register with your science teacher first. Science rocks!!
  • Dribble, pass, shoot, SCORE!!  Girls Soccer tryouts are next week!  Interested athletes should sign-up on the activity board by the cafeteria — and must have a physical on file to participate. Tryouts for 6th graders are next MONDAY, for 7th graders next TUESDAY, and 8th graders next THURSDAY. Please see Coach Girard with any questions.
  • Boys Ultimate Frisbee is set to begin next MONDAY.  6th, 7th and 8th graders are all encouraged to join. Interested athletes are asked to sign up on the activity board by the cafeteria — and you do NOT need a physical to play. Please see Mr. Smo, Mr. Witte, or Mr. Clark for more information.
  • Need help with Spanish?The Yorktown tutors are back! Next TUESDAY in room WW11 during ASP 2. Please see your Spanish teacher to sign up. Get the extra practice you need to succeed. Hasta Pronto!
  • Discovery Elementary School will be hosting “PumpkinFest” on Sunday, October 30th from 12 to 4PM.  But they need YOUR HELP! Discovery needs middle school VOLUNTEERS to help make PumpkinFest a success. Interested students are encouraged to sign-up in the main office.
  • The Leo Club’s Annual Coat Drive for the Homeless begins TOMORROW! Students are enouraged to bring in new or gently used coats, scarves, gloves and socks to collection boxes located in the the LIBRARY. Leo Club members are reminded to come to the meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 120 to make preparations. Go Leo!!
