  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The WMS Tennis Team got back in the “swing” of things with a big win over Jefferson Middle School on Tuesday.  Both the Boys and Girls Squad played with skill and determination in their last regular season match of the year.  Way to go, tennis wolves!! [clap]  And today at noon, the tennis team will be traveling to the “Stockard Championship Doubles Tournament at Bluemont” — where they’ll be going up against the best players in Arlington.  Good luck, doubles wolves!!

  • As we continue our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, students in the lunchroom will be treated to a selection of Salsa music today!  Salsa represents a MIX of Latin musical genres, but its primary component is Cuban dance music.  Famous Salsa artists include Tito Puentes and Celia Cruz.  And remember — Hispanic Heritage is American Heritage!!

  • Latinas Leading Tomorrow — otherwise known as the LLT — will be holding its first meeting of the year TODAY during ASP 1 in room 214. Members and allies are encouraged to come and join the discussion! See Ms. Winter with any questions.

  • The WMS Model UN Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 202 for both new and returning members.  See Ms. Carlson with any questions.

  • The Best Buddies Club will have its first meeting on FRIDAY during WOLF TIME in room 108. This inspirational club is your chance to really make a difference in our school — and with our amazing kids. Just get a pass from your TA teacher, then come on down and join the fun and games.   • Let’s DANCE!! The WMS dance team is recruiting performers for the new year. Participants will perform a range of dancing styles to the best beats around, and will even get to choreograph some of the dance routines themselves. For more information or to sign up, come to the informational meeting next MONDAY during ASP 1 in the Library. See Ms. Smalfelt with any questions — and come ready to dance!

  • Grab you frisbee and let it fly!  Girls Ultimate Frisbee begins next MONDAY after school.  All grade levels are welcome — no experience needed!  Just see Mr. Smo with any questions, and come ready to play!

  • Hey 7th grade!  Are you ready to party?!  The FALL CARNIVAL DANCE will be rocking-out next TUESDAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria! There will be a DJ, photo booth, snow cone machine, popcorn, and a even a raffle with awesome prizes!  So come on out a BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!

  • Dribble, pass, SHOOT!  Tryouts for the WMS Boys soccer team will be “kicking-off” next week.   Here’s the breakdown:  6th graders next THURSDAY, then 7th graders on Monday the 23rd, and 8th graders on Tuesday the 24th — all during ASP 1 and 2 on Field number 2.  You must have a physical on file to participate.  Interested athletes should sign-up on the activity board by the cafeteria, or see Mr. Witte with any questions.

  • Calling all dancers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, and visual artists! Put your creative genius to the test in the annual “PTA Reflections” contest. This year’s theme is: “Within Reach.” Just get a submission form and turn-in your entry to the “Reflections” box in the library by October 20th.

  • Listen up, Wolves! That grungy old sweatshirt you’re wearing has GOT to go. It’s time to show your Wolf Pack Pride in STYLE.  For a limited time only, you can order from a FIERCE new collection of Spirit Wear — including a hoodie sweat shirt, sweat pants, and long sleeve ‘T.’  Just get an order form from the WMS PE Department, or download a copy from the WMS website.  Orders must be received by next MONDAY, so act fast!
