  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • The Boys Ultimate team is gearing up for a new season!  The first practice is scheduled for next TUESDAY.  There are no tryouts — and all are welcome to join.  Just come to the gym after school next TUESDAY for a short meeting and then you’ll head out and play!  See Mr. Smo with any questions.
    .
  • The Spotlight Women’s Sports Club will have its first meeting of the year next TUESDAY in Room 118 during ASP1 and 2 . All interested students are welcome to attend.  See Mrs. Young with any questions.
    .
  • The WMS Helping Hands club will be holding its first meeting next WEDNESDAY in the Library Wolf Den during ASP 1.  Helping Hands focuses on community service, helping our neighbors in need, and supporting local non-profits. All students in all grades are welcome to join! See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
    .
  • Stroke, Stroke, Stroke!! Yorktown Crew is looking for a few good 8th graders to join the team. Interested rowers are invited to meet with the coach next WEDNESDAY in the cafeteria during lunch.  See Ms. Hogwood for more information.
    .
  • Dribble, pass, shoot, nothing but net!  Tryouts for the Boys Basketball team are coming up soon — October 16th, 17th, and 18th in the main gym.  Interested ballers should sign up using the QR code by the Activities Board.  See Coach Clark or Coach Nelson with any questions.
    .
  • Calling all athletes!! If you want to participate in Boys Basketball or Girls Soccer this year, you MUST have a physical on file by next Thursday, October 12th.  You ONLY need to submit ONE physical for the entire year — so if you’ve already submitted one, you’re good!  And don’t forget to scan the QR code outside of Ms. Hogwood’s office to register!
    .
  • Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera!  SCHOOL PICTURE DAY is scheduled for next THURSDAY and FRIDAY during PE class.
    .
Picture packages can be ordered ONLINE by going to the WMS website. See Ms. Johnson with any questions. And say cheese!!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The girls Ultimate team finished their season by splitting a double-header against Gunston on Wednesday.  In the first game, our 6th graders were taking on a combo of 6th and 7th graders from Gunston, and lost a hard fought match:  5 to 2.
    .
But our team of 7th and 8th graders could not be stopped, taking the match by a score of 8 to 1.  With the win, this team went UNDEFEATED on the season — and was one of the most dominant teams WMS has ever had in ANY sport! They outscored their opponents 48 to 14 on the year, and were virtually untouchable.
    .
Congratulations to our 8th graders on their final season, and to captains Ada, Alex, and Sophia for their incredible leadership.  WMS has one of the oldest Ultimate programs in the country, and this year’s team is among the best ever.  HAM: They really put the ‘W’-in-Everything.  Way to go, Ultimate wolves!! [clap]
