  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And now — the entire baseball season has been leading up to this moment:  Game 7 of the World Series.  Student-reporter Lauren E. is here to bring you the FINAL results.
    .
  • LAUREN:  The Nationals WIN!  The Nationals WIN!!  That’s right, Williamsburg — your hometown Washington Nationals are the 2019 World Champions!  They beat the Houston Astros on the road 6 to 2 — and took the series 4 games to 3.  Held to just one hit through 6-innings, the Nats broke out for 3-runs in the 7th, then tacked on 3-more in the final innings to seal the deal.  This was one for the history books.  Come on, everybody — let’s here it for the Nationals! Way to go, Nats nation!!!!  [clap]  One last thing — the Nationals VICTORY PARADE is scheduled for this SATURDAY at 2pm in DC.  I’ll see you there!!
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Thanks to all the students and staff who dressed up today — showing your support of Red Ribbon Week, keeping our community drug-free, and of course in celebration of HALLOWEEN! It’s shared activities like this one that truly make our WMS community GREAT.  Take the pledge to live a drug-free life — and BE A PART OF THE PRIDE!!
    .
  • And speaking of Halloween — The PE department will be hosting its annual Halloween Costume Contest TODAY in the gym during all Health and PE classes. And elective teachers are welcome to bring your students, too! Just remember that all costumes MUST adhere to the WMS costume guidelines, and masks and props may ONLY be worn during the contest itself — then be immediately returned to your locker. Winners will be chosen by your peers. GHOUL luck, Halloween wolves!!
    .
  • And one last Halloween announcement for you today — and it’s about CANDY!  Once the trick-or-treating is tonight— chances are you’ll have a LOT of leftover candy. So why not donate it to a good cause?! The WMS Kindness Club is collecting UNOPENED Halloween candy for “Operation Gratitude” — a charitable organization that sends care packages to Veterans, First Responders, and Deployed Troops.
    .
To participate, just drop-off your candy in the donation bins located outside of each grade-level holding area — from this Friday through next Tuesday.  The Halloween Candy Donation Drive — Give what you can, and help spread kindness to others!
    .
  • And speaking of “kindness” — the WMS Kindness Club will be hosting its next meeting on MONDAY during ASP 1 in room 136.  All are welcome to join — new members and old — as we help to spread KINDNESS throughout our shared WMS community.  Monday’s meeting will be spent working on the Candy Donation Drive — and planning for other events throughout the year.  See Ms. Pugliese, Ms. Briones, or Mr. G with any questions.
    .
  • The Best Buddies Club will be hosting its next meeting this FRIDAY morning during TA in room 108. Participating students should check-in with your TA teacher first — then come down to room 108 and join in the fun. You’ll also be discussing an upcoming Best Buddies field trip — so you won’t want to miss it!  See Ms. Parris with any questions. Thanks, Buddy!!
    .
  • Every good team needs a good manager!  If you’d like to be a team manager for the WMS girls basketball team this season, please contact Ms. Warden in room 115.  Managers will run the clock, keep score during games, and support the success of our student-athletes.  Go team!!
    .
  • And now for an important announcement for all WMS athletes who played Tennis, Boys Ultimate, or Girls Soccer this fall — please return your CLEAN and FOLDED uniform to your team’s coach as soon as possible.  Once again, all WMS uniforms should be turned-in by the end-of-the-week.  See your coach with any questions.
