  • There’s NO SCHOOL this Friday — so TODAY we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And WHY is there no school on Friday? Because it’s time for Parent-Teacher Conferences! TODAY from 4:30 to 7:30pm, and TOMORROW from 8 to 11:30am, parents and guardians are invited to meet VIRTUALLY with all of your teachers on MS Teams.
    .
Just tell your folks to register for a slot using “Sign-Up Genius” through the WMS website, or ask your TA teacher for more information.  Parents and teachers together — what could be better than that?!
    .
  • And speaking of Parent-Teacher Conferences — we’ve got an important scheduling note for all ACT II Chorus and Theater students!! There IS still class this afternoon, but they’ll be ending earlier than usual — at 3:30pm — so that your teachers can prepare for their conferences.  Students can still take the late bus home — but again, ACT II classes will end at 3:30 today.
    .
  • Attention all members of the WMS Jazz Band!!  There is NO REHEARSAL today.  Practice will resume next TUESDAY.  But again, Jazz Band has been CANCELLED for this afternoon.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS Boys Soccer Team lost a heart breaker to Swanson on Tuesday — falling 1 to 0 on a late Penalty Kick. The whole team played their hearts out — but especially the midfield quartet of 8th graders Ryan P. and Owen C., and 7th graders Conor M. and Hayden H.  Great game, soccer wolves!! [clap]
    .
Up next for Boys Soccer — today they’ll be playing their SEASON FINALE against Dorothy Hamm.  If they win, we’re GUARANTEED at least a “share” of the County Championship.  So show your WOLF PACK PRIDE and root them on to victory!!
    .
  • Halloween Candy -- Final FourWe’re down to the FINAL FOUR in the Halloween Candy count-down, and there’s been another HUGE upset:  “Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups” — historically the most popular candy in America — was bounced from the competition!
    .
I NEVER saw that coming!  So here are the matchups in the Final Four: it’s Hershey’s Bar versus Twix, and M&M’s versus Twizzlers!  Just go to the Library Canvas Course to cast your vote for Favorite Halloween Candy.  We’ll have the results next Friday — and may the best candy win!!
    .
  •  Morning Announcements SAVE EACH DAY!!! (2)Next Monday marks the beginning of “Red Ribbon Week” — from October 25th to the 29th.  The symbolic Red Ribbon is meant to raise AWARENESS about the dangers of drug use — and to educate young people in our community about drug-free activities.
    .
All week long, our Substance Abuse Counselor, Ms. Sexton, the entire Student Services Department, and the Williamsburg Youth Task Force will be engaging with students, answering questions, and promoting our goal of a drug-free school. This year’s theme is “Drug Free Looks Like Me!!”
    .
And here’s the best part — EVERYONE is invited to show your support for Red Ribbon Week by following the THEME for each day.  Check it out!
    .
On Monday, it’s PAJAMA DAY; Tuesday is TEAM JERSEY DAY; Wednesday is PINK DAY for Breast Cancer Awareness; Thursday is School Spirit Day; and Friday is WEAR RED DAY.
    .
We look forward to having all of you join us next week for Red Ribbon Week — and to take the pledge to keep our community drug-free!!
