Today, we’ve got a special treat for students and staff during all three lunches — it’s the annual Hispanic Heritage Tasting Event! You can try Lionel Messi’s drink of choice: Yerba Mate; the national dish of El Salvador: pupusas; and a drink you’ve surely heard of if you’ve ever traveled to Mexico: Horchata! Be sure to bring your appetite!

Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera! SCHOOL PICTURE DAY has arrived — TODAY and TOMORROW during PE class. Picture packages can be ordered ONLINE by going to the WMS website. See Ms. Johnson with any questions. And say cheese!!

Serve, volley, overhead SLAM!! Today, the WMS Tennis Team will be competing in the Stockard Championship Doubles Tournament at Bluemont Park. Players are reminded to leave your classes today at 11:00am, gather your belongings, eat your lunch, then meet in the bus loop outside of the cafeteria at 11:30 for the ride over. Congratulations to everyone selected for the 2023-2024 Wolfbots Robotics Team!! The first team meeting is scheduled for TODAY after school in room 129. Attendance is MANDATORY! See Coach Dude with any questions.

Do you like pi? Well so do we! Come to room 205 every Thursday starting TODAY during ASP1 for the Math Counts Club. There will be math games, math jokes, and of course, all the mathematical Pi you can eat. See Ms. Miller with any questions.

Calling all athletes!! If you want to participate Boys Basketball or Girls Soccer this year, you MUST have a physical on file by this FRIDAY. You ONLY need to submit ONE physical for the entire year — so if you’ve already submitted one, you’re good! And don’t forget to scan the QR code outside of Ms. Hogwood’s office to register!

Dribble, pass, shoot, nothing but net! Tryouts for the Boys Basketball team are next week — October 16th, 17th, and 18th in the main gym. Interested ballers should sign up using the QR code by the Activities Board. See Coach Clark or Coach Nelson with any questions.

She shoots, she scores! Tryouts for the WMS Girls Soccer team are scheduled to begin a week from Monday, on October 23rd, on the turf fields. Athletes are reminded to sign-up using the QR code by the Activities Board or outside of room 116. See Coach Treble with any questions.

If you have any good pictures of yourself and your friends from when you were little — like elementary school or younger — please email them to Ms. Briones at elizabeth.briones@apsva.us or bring them to room 136 so she can scan them. Your pics could be featured in the Now & Then section of the Yearbook!! Thanks for your help, wolves!!

Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “I am hopeful because…” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts.
