  • Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • Calling all members of the WMS boys’ Soccer AND co-ed Tennis teams!! Please remember to leave your 7th period class today at 2:20pm and meet your coaches at door number-1. The bus to Jefferson will be leaving promptly at 2:30pm.  Once again, boys soccer and co-ed tennis — leave class at 2:20 and get to the team bus at door number-1!

  • The Boys Ultimate team is gearing up for a new season!  The first practice is scheduled for TODAY.  There are no tryouts — and all are welcome to join.  Just come to the gym after school for a short meeting and then you’ll head out and play!  See Mr. Smo with any questions.

  • The Gender Sexuality Alliance Club — aka the GSA —  will be hosting its first meeting of the year TODAY during ASP 1 in room 124.  All are welcome!  Whether you’re LGBTQ+ or an ally, it’s a great place to come together and support your friends and classmates.  See Ms. Wielechowski with any questions.

  • The Spotlight Women’s Sports Club will have its first meeting TODAY in Room 118 during ASP1 and 2. All interested students are welcome to attend.  See Ms. Young with any questions.

  • The Model UN Club will meet TODAY during ASP I in room C105. Participants will be discussing parliamentary procedures and practicing debate skills.  All are welcome and no sign-up is required.  See Mr. McDermott with any questions.

  • Attention WMS Cheer team!  There will be NO cheer practice today.  Once again, Cheer practice has been CANCELLED for today.  See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • Stroke, Stroke, Stroke!! Yorktown Crew is looking for a few good 8th graders to join the team. Interested rowers are invited to meet with the coach on WEDNESDAY in the cafeteria during lunch.  See Ms. Hogwood for more information.

  • The WMS Girls Soccer team will be holding an informational meeting this WEDNESDAY in the gym right after school. Participants will meet the coach, hear about the program, and learn how to tryout for the team. See Mr. Treble with any questions.

  • Calling all athletes!! If you want to participate in Boys Basketball or Girls Soccer this year, you MUST have a physical on file by this Thursday, October 12th.  You ONLY need to submit ONE physical for the entire year — so if you’ve already submitted one, you’re good!  And don’t forget to scan the QR code outside of Ms. Hogwood’s office to register!

  • Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera!  SCHOOL PICTURE DAY is scheduled for this THURSDAY and FRIDAY during PE class.  Picture packages can be ordered ONLINE by going to the WMS website. See Ms. Johnson with any questions. And say cheese!!

  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS Tennis played a pair of matches last week.  First up was a big win against Gunston on Tuesday — 4 to 1.  Props to 6th grader Ella G., 7th grader Connor C., and 8th grader Duc P. — who all won in tiebreakers!!

    And then on Thursday against Swanson, the tennis team won again — winning a REALLY close one, 3 to 2.  In this extremely tense match, it all came down to 6th grader Davis B. — the “Young Wolf” — who dominated his match 6 to 1 and claimed victory for the entire team.  Way to go, tennis wolves!! [clap]
