- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — plus Wolf Time — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - ‘Tis the season to be giving! Today is your LAST CHANCE to participate in the SCA winter clothing drive. All donations will benefit families in need throughout the Metro DC region. Requested items include gently used winter boots, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Donation bins are located in the main lobby and by the cafeteria. See Ms. Dittimus with any questions.
. - Did you miss Picture Day last fall, or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is scheduled for next WEDNESDAY, January 14th, in the Auxiliary Gym. If you never got a picture this year, then you can just go on down. But if it’s a retake, you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Dr. Koval with any questions. And say cheese!
. - And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic! It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE! First: WASH YOUR HANDS multiple times a day — especially before and after you eat. Second: Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. And third: if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME. Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread. See our school nurse with any questions.
. - And now for an important SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT for all students! When crossing the street on the way to school or on the way home, please DO NOT USE YOUR iPHONE!! Distracted walking is incredibly dangerous, so you really need to pay attention to the traffic around you. Once again, put down your phone in the crosswalk — and STAY SAFE!!
. - Who’s ready for a fantastic show?! The WMS theater department is proud to present our Winter play: The Snow Queen — based on the classic story by Hans Christian Anderson. Performances are scheduled for next week — Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th, both at 7pm in the auditorium.
.
Tickets are just 5-dollars per person, and can be purchased in advance on the WMS website using SchoolCash — or you can buy them at the door using regular cash. See Mr. Randle with any questions, and we hope you enjoy the show!
