Today we will be following the BLUE DAY schedule. That means we start with an extended TA until 8:25. After that, you’ll proceed to periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a BLUE day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

Calling all TEACHERS! Please be sure to check your Blue Day rosters immediately following the Morning Announcements so you can tell your students where to go if they’ve been requested for another class. All other students will remain in your TAs and use this extra time to organize, study, or read!

Believe it or not, but this FRIDAY is the last day of the 2nd Quarter! So be sure to check StudentVue and talk to your teachers about any missing assignments or make-up work. Again, grades close at the end-of-the-week.

Get a HOT chocolate on a COLD winter day! The WMS Best Buddies Club will be selling hot chocolate this FRIDAY before school outside of the cafeteria. It’s just 1-dollar per cup, and all money raised will go to support our fantastic Best Buddies program. See Ms. Taylor with any questions. Thanks, buddy!

Up next, we need to talk about LOCKERS! If you’ve decorated a friend’s locker, those decorations MUST be removed after a week. We’ve got to keep our lockers neat and clean — both INSIDE and OUTSIDE. Plus, make sure you’re CLOSING your locker every time so it locks. And if it won’t close, see your TA teacher for help.

WHAT ARE THOSE??? As part of our school’s commitment to sustainability, Williamsburg is joining a Sneaker Recycling Program called “Got Sneakers!!” So if you have any old shoes lying around, don’t throw them away!! Instead, please donate them to “Got Sneakers” by dropping them off in room 233. See Mr. Sundwick with any questions.

Give a helping hand to those in need! The Helping Hands club is hosting a DIAPER DRIVE to benefit the Greater DC Diaper Bank from now through Friday, February 2nd. Diapers of all sizes are the priority, but we are also collecting any other baby items that could be helpful to a new mother. Please consider donating and dropping items in the WMS lobby!

And finally — Gamers unite!! There’s a lot a great video games out there, but perhaps none are more popular than Fortnite.
