  • Today, we will be administering the MAP Growth assessment in Math to the entire school.   To accommodate the test, we will be following a modified A-Day schedule. That means TA ends at 8am, the test goes until 9:30, and then you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — but there is NO Wolf Time. Again, this is a modified A-Day with no Wolf Time. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • And here’s a little more information about the MAP test.  Most students will remain in their TA for the test unless otherwise directed by your TA teacher.  All you need is your iPad, but you may also have a pencil, a water bottle, and a book to read when you’re finished.  No phones, earbuds, smart watches, nor any other electronic devices are allowed. See your TA teacher with any other questions.  And good luck on the test!!
    .
  • Up next, we need to talk about LOCKERS!  If you’ve decorated a friend’s locker, those decorations MUST be removed after a week. We’ve got to keep our lockers neat and clean — both INSIDE and OUTSIDE.  Plus, make sure you’re CLOSING your locker every time so it locks.  And if it won’t close, see your TA teacher for help.
    .
  • And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic!  It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE!  First — WASH YOUR HANDS!!  Second — Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.  And third — if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME.  Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread.  See our school nurse with any questions.
    .
  • And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!!  The WMS Spelling Bee held its third and final round last week, and the competition was FIERCE!! That’s spelled f-i-e-r-c-e… FIERCE!!
    .
And the winners are: in 5th place — Audrey F; in 4th place — Bella C; in 3rd place — Sally B; in 2nd place — Emily D; and in 1st place, our CHAMPION is —Thomas F!!  Thanks to everyone who participated, and congratulations, spelling wolves!! [clap]
    .
  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with big news from the WMS Music Department!  FIVE Williamsburgers have been selected for the “Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ Association District 12 Middle School Honor Band!”  They will be representing our school in the All-District Band Event at Oakton High School next month.
    .
Congratulations to Jack B on the trombone; Leah K on the clarinet; Alex W on the trumpet; and alternates Sid G on the alto saxophone; and Claire M on the euphonium.  And props to EVERYONE who auditioned.  Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
