- We’ve got some special activities today! The WMS PTA is treating our students and staff to a FALL FESTIVAL in the courtyard! To accommodate the festivities, we will be following a modified B-Day schedule with an extended 50-minute lunch period. Wolf Time will also be longer than usual.
.
We’re going to leave this schedule up on the screen for 30 seconds so you can take a picture of it with your iPad. Ready — TAKE A PICTURE, WOLVES!! You can also check with your teachers to make sure you know the start-time of each class. Again, this is a modified B-Day.
. - And when it’s time for the Festival, please be sure to go to the cafeteria FIRST. WMS staff will escort you to the courtyard in an orderly fashion — and then the party will begin! There will be music, games, treats, and more. So get ready for a great time at the PTA Fall Festival!!
. - Stroke, Stroke, Stroke!! Yorktown Crew is looking for a few good 8th graders to join the team. The crew coaches will be visiting Williamsburg TODAY during 8th grade lunch, so interested rowers can get all the information they need. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - The Williamsburg Band Boosters will be hosting a bake sale on Election Day — next Tuesday — right here at WMS. Student and staff are invited to come on by, get some sweet treats, and show your support for the WMS band program. See Mr. Edwards for more information.
. - The PE Fall Gear Sale is open for business! From now until November 7th, students may purchase hoodies, joggers, or leggings through the online store. It’s a great way to show your Wolf Pack Pride — AND to stay warm on these cold fall days. Just go to your PE teacher’s Canvas homepage to order, or see your PE teacher with any questions.
. - And now for a special message from the WMS Equity Committee: representation MATTERS. WMS is planning a series of events and activities to celebrate Native American Heritage Month. But we need your help!!
.
If you identify as Native American, or if you’d like to show support for this important segment of our shared community, please contact Ms. Wielechowski in room 124 or send her a message in Canvas. Thanks for supporting Native American Heritage Month!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! The WMS Girls Ultimate team finished their season in style on Wednesday — by SHUTTING OUT Gunston Middle School in BOTH of their games. Big props to everyone on defense!
.
Special congratulations also go to Sophia and Cecilia for their break out games on the 7th and 8th grade field; and Eden, Ellen and Erin who stepped-up big time for the 6th grade. And lastly, shout out to team-captains Ada, Claire, and Asia for leading the team to a fun and successful season. Way to go, Ultimate wolves!! [clap]
. - Wolf Pack Pride continues with the Girls Basketball team who tipped-off their season with a HUGE victory at home yesterday against Kenmore — 40 to 4!
.
6th grader Carolyn dominated on offense with 17 points, while Ainsley and Fi were fantastic on defense. Congratulations on notching your first win. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]
. - And finally — the results are in for the 2022 Halloween Candy Countdown!! Hundreds of students cast a vote for their favorite candy. And the winner is… TWIX!!
.
Twix is an awesome combination of crunchy cookie, delicious caramel and creamy chocolate. Perfect for sharing! Or, you can eat the whole thing yourself. Thanks to everyone for participating in the Halloween Candy Countdown, and thanks for supporting the WMS Library!!
