  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • And now for an important announcement for all 6th graders on the Exploratory Wheel — TODAY you will be rotating to your NEW exploratory class. Staff members will be stationed throughout the halls this afternoon to help you find your way — but please do your best to be ON TIME. Again, the new Wheel classes for 6th graders begin TODAY.

  • Calling all MUNNERS!!  The Model UN Club will meet TODAY during ASP 1 in Room C105.  There will be important details about upcoming conferences, and you’ll be exploring the website about the conference in January.  See Mr. McDermott with any questions.

  • Attention technology Wolves!  The Technology Student Association — a.k.a the TSA — will NOT be meeting this week.  But Wolfbots Robitics WILL be meeting as usual.  Once again, there is no TSA; but there IS Wolfbots.  See Mr. Dudek with any questions.

  • The WMS Band will be performing its Winter Concert TONIGHT in the school auditorium at 7pm.  Students and staff and invited to come out and ring in the holiday season with some festive holiday music.  Admission is FREE — and it’s sure to be a great time.  So show your WOLF PACK PRIDE — and we’ll see you at the Band’s Winter Concert tonight!!

  • Calling all scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians!!  The Virginia Junior Academy of Science — a statewide “STEM” competition — is gearing up for 2022!  7th and 8th graders who are interested in turning their science projects into research papers and participating in VJAS are invited to an interest meeting this THURSDAY in room 115 during 8th grade Wolf Time OR 7th grade lunch — and you can bring your food!  See Ms. Warden with any questions.

  • There’s a new club at WMS this year — Boys-to-Men — which is committed to building friendships, developing leadership skills, and promoting a “safe space” to discuss issues like race, ethnicity, religion, and LGBTQIA+. Boys-to-Men meets twice a month — with the next meeting scheduled for Thursday, December 16th.  Check it out — and make a difference in our school and our community.  Contact Mr. Gardner, Ms. Wielechowski or Ms. Sicer with any questions.

  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream — it was a dream about FREEDOM.   Students in all grade levels are invited to compete in the “2022 MLK Virtual Literary and Visual Arts Contest.”  To participate, please develop a written or artistic interpretation of a Dr. King quote that explores how YOU can take a stand and support a vision of equality throughout our society.  The submission deadline is next THURSDAY, December 16th.   • It’s better to GIVE than to RECEIVE! The WMS Orchestra is partnering with Toys for Tots for a Holiday Toy Drive!  NEW or GENTLY USED gifts may be dropped-off in the donation bins located outside of the Library and Auditorium from now through December 16th. So show your WOLF PACK PRIDE and donate to the Toy Drive TODAY!!

  • But wait — there’s MORE!  The WMS Helping Hands Club is also holding a “gift” drive in support of the Virginia Hospital Center Pediatrics Unit.  Plus, there’s a “gift card” drive for Arlington families in need.  Both fundraisers will be collecting donations until next Wednesday, December 15th. The bin for giftcards is located in the front office. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • Show someone you care this holiday season and place your order for a Candy Cane Candy Gram — benefiting the WMS Best Buddies Club. Candy Grams are just 1-dollar — and you can get the order form from your TA teacher.  Just be sure to purchase your Candy Gram by December 10th — and they’ll be delivered to the person-of-your-choice on December 15th.  See Ms. Nance with any questions.
