  • TAB LunchCalling all book lovers!  The WMS “Talk About Books” club — aka TAB — will be meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches.  So if you’d like to read some Totally Awesome Books and maybe even MEET some Totally Awesome Authors — like past picks Jason Reynolds of “Long way Down,” Marissa Meyer of “Cinder,” and Michael Northrop of “Trapped” — then this club is for you!  Just grab your grub and come on up to the library on Monday during lunch.  Hooray for BOOKS!!

  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 216. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, hone your problem solving skills, and prepare for the AMC-8 competition. It’s all math, all the time at Math Counts! • Calling all players from this year’s WMS Tennis Team!  Congratulations once again on a SENSATIONAL season!! But now that it’s over, it’s time to return your uniform.  Please WASH your shirt, put it in a bag that’s labeled your name and grade, and drop it off to Ms. Hogwood in room 110 by the end of the week. Contact Mr. Seeger with any questions.
    .
  • Attention 7th Graders!  Congratulations for fulfilling your civic responsibility and VOTING last week.  The 2021 “MOCK” election results are in — and it was a clean sweep by the Democrats, with Terry McAuliffe winning overwhelmingly for Governor, Hala Ayala for Lieutenant Governor, Mark Herring for Attorney General, and Richard “Rip” Hamilton for House Delegate.  You also voted “YES” to all the Arlington spending items. Way to go, voting wolves!
    .
  • And now for a technology tip from Ms. Solomon.  THIS is a standard-issue school iPad.  As you can see, it is completely enclosed by its protective case.  Recently, many students have been REMOVING their iPads from the case — and not surprisingly, many of those iPads are BREAKING.
    .
Students are reminded that iPads MUST be kept in their cases at ALL TIMES.  If you’re seen without a case, it could result in serious consequences, including a phone call home.  Any questions?  Contact Ms. Solomon, or submit a Student Tech Help Request form.

  • Halloween Candy -- Twizzlers wins! And finally, last week was the CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND of the WMS Halloween Candy Count-Down!  The last TWO contestants were TWIX versus TWIZZLERS!
    .
Over 500 Williamsburgers voted for their favorite candy.  And the winner is:  TWIZZLERS!!  Twizzlers were first produced in Lancaster, PA in 1929. Incredibly, one MILLION miles of this candy are made every a year. Thanks for participating, wolves!  And remember to support your school library!!
