iCloud-Saving Photos and Videos

After you log into your iCloud account, you can save a copy of pictures and videos in your Photos app into your iCloud File Drive.

How to Save Specific Photos/Videos into iCloud Drive Launch the Photos app.
Select the image or video that you want to save to iCloud File Drive. Tap on the “Send To” button.
You can select more than on image/video here by swiping the images in the pop up window and tapping on the items. Then swipe down.
Swipe down until you see “Save to Files”. Tap on that.
Tap on “iCloud Drive”. Then tap on the Save link in the top right corner.
Press the home button to go back to the iPad home screen. Then locate the Files app. Tap to launch the app.
Tap on “iCloud Drive” on the left panel. Then you will see your files in your iCloud Drive on the right hand side of the screen.

How to Restore Photos/Videos from iCloud Drive

If you chose “Optimize iPad Storage” within the iCloud setting, your photos and videos in your photos app will automatically back up into your APS iCloud File Drive. To recover these items, just log into your iCloud account and your photos/videos will start reappearing in the Photos app. Below are instructions on how to bring specific photos and videos from your iCloud drive back into your Photos app.

Launch the Files app.
Tap on iCloud Drive on the left panel. Then tap on the photo or video on the right side of the screen that you want to save into your iPad Photos app.
Tap on the “Send to” icon on the top right corner.
Then tap on “Save Image” or “Save Video”. This will then save that image/video into your Photos app on the iPad.
