- Today we will be following the A-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is an A-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Smile for the camera! It’s Day-4 of TA pictures for the 2020 Yearbook. Here’s the rundown: 8th grade TAs will be photographed TODAY — 7th grade TAs will be next Monday and Tuesday — and all grade-level Make-ups and retakes will be shot next Thursday and Friday.
.
The photographers will be arranging you into 2-lines for the picture… OR, if you’re feeling more imaginative — you’re encouraged to creatively stage and arrange yourself for the picture. Just be sure to practice your pose in advance — and make sure we can see everyone’s faces! See Mr. Schonfeld with any questions about the TA pictures.
. - Calling all Best Buddies! The Best Buddies Club is meeting RIGHT NOW in room 108. Participating students who haven’t gone yet should IMMEDIATELY go down to room 108 for a special treat. Once again, the Best Buddies Club is meeting NOW. Thanks, Buddy!!
. - Who Wants Pizza? The WMS Model UN Club will be hosting a pizza fundraiser TODAY immediately after school — located in the main lobby by the library. It’s just 2-dollars a slice, and all proceeds will go to fund MUNner activities and scholarships. Pizza pizza!!
. - Listen up, 8th graders! Representatives from Yorktown High School will be coming to Williamsburg next week to discuss schedule and course options for next year. Half of the class will be meeting them on Monday, and the other half on Tuesday — both during your 5th period class. It’s time to start planning for High School! See Ms. Brenckle with any questions.
. - The WMS Geo Club will be hosting a SPECIAL guest during its meeting next week — Mr. Mike Nardolilli, the director of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin. If you’d like to learn about our local watershed, and the importance of protecting the ecosystem — then stop by the Geo Club, next MONDAY during ASP 1 in room WW9. Member AND any interested students are encouraged to participate. See Mr. Miller with any questions. Go Geo!!
. - Calling all swimmers! The WMS swim team will be hosting an informational meeting next MONDAY during ASP 1 in the cafeteria. Interested athletes can meet the coach, learn about the team, and get a head start on the competition. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - Believe it or not, but the 2nd Quarter is rapidly coming to a close! And you know what that means: it’s almost time for the Wolf Paw Drawing!!! That’s right — the 2nd Quarter Wolf Paw Drawing is scheduled for next THURSDAY during TA. But you MUST submit your Wolf Paws by next TUESDAY in order to be eligible. And if you’d like a sneak-peak at the prizes, go check-out the display case by the library. There’s some great stuff in there. So don’t delay — and turn in your Wolf Paws TODAY!!
. - Ready for some science? Here’s a joke. You Matter. Unless you multiply yourself times the speed of light squared. Then you energy. Get it???
.
Got it. But now I’ve got something that really “matters” — The WMS Science Fair is almost here! Students, parents and staff are invited to check-out the AMAZING student displays during the Science Fair open house — this Saturday morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. in the cafeteria. Then judging begins at 9 o’clock. One of these exhibits could change the world — so come on out, support your friends and classmates, and be an ENERGETIC part of the PRIDE. Science Rocks!!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE! The boys basketball team took on Thomas Jefferson Middle School on the home court yesterday and notched a big win — 40 to 34. 8th grader John T. scored 11 points to lead all scoreres for the second consecutive game — but also got big contributions from Buddy S. with 8, Grant C. with 7, and Jack R. who was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line. Another great game. Way to go, Baller wolves!! [clap].
