  • Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. Again, this is a B-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
    .
  • What are YOU doing after school this year? The WMS Activities Fair is TODAY for 7th and 8th graders — in the cafeteria at 2:30.  Meet with coaches, club sponsors, teachers, and fellow-students to learn all about what WMS has to offer — from sports, to clubs, to academic classes.  Whatever you’re into — you’re gonna find it here!  Late buses will be provided for students with a valid pass. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • Due to the Activity Fair, students in the after school Check-In program should meet in room 128 today instead of the cafeteria.  Again, Check-In will be meeting in room 128.  See Ms. Martin with any questions.
    .
  • And now for an update on the TENNIS TEAM for the 2019 season.  The final Tennis Team list is now posted on the activity board outside of the cafeteria.  A special “thank you” to everyone who tried-out — 43 talented athletes competed for a spot on this team, and you should all be proud of your effort.  Girls and Boys on the tennis team are reminded to bring their gear to practice this TUESDAY and THURSDAY after school at the Yorktown tennis courts.  See Coach Seeger with any questions.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Look Within.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 28th.  Unleash your inner artist and submit today!!

  • Could your parents survive a day in Middle School? We’ll soon find out! THURSDAY is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT at WMS, from 7 to 9pm. Parents will be virtually “walking in your shoes” — as they follow your daily schedule, meet your teachers, and tour the school. So go home and tell your folks — come to Back to School Night on Thursday — and be a Part of the Pride!

  • And finally — today is Constitution Day! It’s celebrated each year on September 17th, the anniversary of that famous day in 1787 Philadelphia, when our Founding Fathers — the Delegates to the Constitutional Convention — came together and signed this country’s foundational document.  In honor of the U.S. Constitution, we’re happy to bring you this THROWBACK video — courtesy of School House Rock!!
