- We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!! Congratulations to Mr. Woodson and the WMS Band for an incredible Winter Concert last night in the school auditorium. Roughly 180 Williamsburg students took part in the hour-long show — and they absolutely rocked the house! The concert was attended by hundreds of students, family members and guests — who gave the performers a well-deserved standing ovation. Way to go, musical wolves!! [clap]
. - And there’s even more music in store next week! The WMS “Winter Orchestra and Chorus Concert” is scheduled for TUESDAY evening at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Come see some of the best and most talented musicians in Arlington as they perform the songs of the season. And the show is absolutely FREE — so come on down. See Ms. McTavish or Mr. Lunt for more information.
. - Up next, it’s time for the monthly Wolves with Character award! Just take a look at the screen to see all the deserving honorees from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades — all of whom were chosen by their teachers for demonstrating outstanding CITIZENSHIP in their daily lives.
.
Congratulations, wolves with character! Be sure to stop by room 110 during your grade-level lunch TODAY and pick up your free pizza!
- Sister Circle will be holding its morning meeting TODAY at 8 a.m. in the library. Participants will be preparing special activities for the holidays — so you won’t want to miss it. All young women are welcome — new members and old, friends and allies. See Ms. Mays with any questions.
. - The Williamsburg SCA — our Student Council Association — will be holding its first meeting TODAY immediately following the Morning Announcements in room 215. See Mr. Tagert or Mr. Peacock with any questions.
. - Attention MUNners!! Help is needed to prepare for the upcoming WOLFMUN Conference — which will be held right here at WMS TOMORROW at 8 a.m. Volunteers should come TODAY during ASP 1 to room 202. There’s a LOT to do, so come on out and Be a Part of the Pride! See Mr. Carlson for more information, or with any questions.
. - Calling all actors, singers, and technicians! Auditions for the WMS Spring Musical — Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” — will take place in the auditorium on THURSDAY, December 13th during ASP 1 and 2; and again on MONDAY, December 17th during ASP 1 only. Interested performers should prepare three things — the song “Happy Birthday”, a short nursery rhyme, and another song of YOUR CHOICE that highlights YOUR VOICE. See Mr. Brown with any questions. Break a leg!
. - Looking to get involved and spread some kindness? The WMS Kindness Club will be meeting next TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. All is welcome, whether you’re a first-timer or an old pro. There’s enough kindness for EVERYONE! Questions? See Ms. Schaefer, Ms. Zeller or Mr. Johnson.
. - Come on out for a BOOK BONANZA! The WMS Academic Book Fair is OPEN FOR BUSINESS — from now until December 12th in the library. 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will all have a chance to visit with their English classes — but everyone is welcome to stop by any day of the week — either before school or during your lunch period. Plus, the fair will also be open late-night next TUESDAY to coincide with the Winter Concert. So don’t forget to bring your money — and go get yourself a good book!
. - And now for a “Transportation Tip” about riding the bus. If you’re ever planning to take a bus that’s not your own — like if you’re going to a friend’s house after school — you MUST bring a note from home to the main office NO LATER than your grade level lunch. Again, do NOT wait until the end of the day to get a bus pass — because there isn’t time and you’ll miss the bus! See Ms. Argenal in the office with any questions.
__________________________________________ - And now, let’s take a look at your local weather with our very own WOLF-TV weatherman — Lightning Luke!! What’s it look like outside today, Luke?
. - LIGHTNING LUKE: What’s up, Williamsburg? I’m Lightning Luke, and I’m back with some BIG weather news! The weather today is SUNNY with a high of 41 degrees — but more importantly, I’d like to look ahead to this weekend.
.
I’ve been studying the radar — and there’s a BIG snow storm headed for the east coast. But here’s the catch: Right now, the DC Metro Region is right on the border between snow and rain, so it’s too close to call if we ARE or ARE NOT going to get snow this weekend.
.
According to the Capital Weather Gang, it’s more likely that we’re just gonna get rain. However, if everything breaks just right, we COULD get more than 6 INCHES of white stuff on Sunday and Monday.
.
So wear your jammies inside out, flush ice cubes down the toilet, and do your best snow dance before bed — and there might just be a SNOW DAY in your future.
.
Well, that’s it for Wolf Weather on WOLF-TV. Once again, I’m Lightning Luke, and remember — it’s always calmest before the storm — so don’t forget your umbrella!
