- We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE! The WMS Boys Basketball Team ROARED to victory on Tuesday, beating Kenmore Middle School 41 to 25 — and improving to a perfect 3 and 0 on the season. 8th grader Chris R. led all scorers with 15 points, and followed by James Y and Jackson B. with 7 points each. It was a hard fought game, and well earned victory. Way to go, baller wolves!! [clap]. Basketball is back in action TODAY at Gunston Middle School. Go get ’em, team!
. - Wolf Pack Pride continues with girls Soccer — who played a tense game against Jefferson on Tuesday, and ultimately played to a tie — 0 to 0. The match was a defensive masterpiece, and the WMS goal-tenders put on an absolute clinic — blocking EVERYTHING that came their way. Props to the goalies — 8th grader Sophie D. and 7th grader Julia L — and the entire team. Way to go, soccer wolves!! [clap]. Soccer kicks-it-off again TODAY with a home game after school against Kenmore. So let’s pack the sidelines, root them on to victory, and be a part of the PRIDE!!
. - And now for an important “technology tip” from Ms. Solomon! All students and staff MUST update their iPads with the new iOS by this FRIDAY — at the very latest. Any iPads that have NOT been updated by the end of the week will need to be WIPED, so don’t delay!
. - And about that iPad “glitch” — some iPads may still be malfunctioning following the iOS update. But here’s some good news: Ms. Solomon’s got the solution! If you are having any problems with your tablet, be sure to submit a “Student Tech. Help Request” form. The link can be found on the WMS homepage — and Ms. Solomon will contact you shortly to schedule the repair.
. - The WMS Jazz Band Club will be hosting its next “Jam Session” TODAY during ASP 1 in room 225. All instruments are welcome. Contact the band leader, Mr. Wilkin, for more information. You’ll have a swingin’ good time!
. - The WMS Earth Club will be meeting TODAY after school in room 111. See Ms. Thomas or Ms. Zarro for more information.
. - Attention 8th graders! Representatives from Arlington Tech will be visiting Williamsburg on FRIDAY during lunch. They’ll be answering questions and helping interested students with their applications. It’s never too soon to start planning for your future! See Ms. Boyers for more information.
. - Who wants Pizza? The Model UN Club will be hosting a Pizza — and cookie — fundraiser this FRIDAY after school, located in the Main Lobby and by the cafeteria. It’s just 2-dollars a plate, and all money raised will go to support the upcoming WOLFMUN conference and other MUNner activities. Come hungry!
. - Did you miss Picture Day last month — or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is next TUESDAY in the Auditorium during TA and all grade-level PE classes. Here’s what to do: if you haven’t taken a picture yet this year, then print a “Retake Form” from the WMS website and bring it with you. OR if you’d like a NEW picture, then you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Ms. Argenal in the main office with any questions. Say cheese!
