  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  Congratulations to the WMS Model UN Club for an OUTSTANDING performance at the HAMUN conference last weekend.  Williamsburg participants won a HOST of awards, including FIVE “Best Delegates”, TWO “Outstanding Delegates”, and SEVERAL “Honorable Mentions.”  And a big kudos to Jacob B-G., Simon F.,Jaya S., Elijah D., and Whitney C., for taking home the gavel.  Way to go, MUNner wolves!! [clap].  The next Model UN meeting will be held this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 202.

  • Wolf Pack Pride continues with the WMS tennis team.  It’s TOURNAMENT WEEK — and your Williiamsburg wolves are going for the title.  The County Tennis Singles Championships are scheduled for TODAY at Bluemont Park.  Players are reminded to meet at the bus loop at 11:15 this morning for the ride over.  And then TOMORROW our doubles players will have their turn.  Good luck, tennis team — and bring us home that trophy!! [clap].

  • Calling all math lovers! Math Counts will meet TODAY and every TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room WW 1. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to do math problems, play math games, and perform many other math activities. It’s all math — all the time at Math Counts!!  See Mr. Mencarini for more information.

  • Be KIND to one another!  The WMS Kindness Club will be hosting a meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 201.  Participants will be working on the Hurricane Relief fundraiser, as well as several other projects that will spread kindness throughout the school and community.  All are welcome — new and old.  See Ms. Schaefer, Mr. Johnson, or Ms. Zeller for more information.

  • Listen up, ballers! If you might be interested in trying-out for the girls basketball team this year, then come to the “open gym session” this TODAY during ASP 1 in the WMS gym. Work on your skills, meet other players, and get some one-on-one instruction with the coach! The complete open gym session schedule is posted by the cafeteria. See Ms. Sutphin with any questions.

  • Sister Circle will be hosting its first meeting of the year this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. All young women are welcome — new members and old, friends and allies. So come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! See Ms. Cameron with any questions.

  • Lace ’em up, Wolf Pack!  It’s time to start the 2018 Girls Soccer Season!!  Tryouts will run all next week — 6th graders on MONDAY, 7th graders on TUESDAY, and 8th graders on THURSDAY — all from 2:50 to 4 on the turf field.  Athletes MUST have a physical on file to participate.  See Mr. Girard with any questions.

  • Want to make new friends, play some smooth music, and have a swingin’ time?! Then join the WMS Jazz Band Club!  Meetings — also known as “Jam Sessions” — begin  November 1st, and will continue every THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 225. All instruments are welcome — including guitar and bass players.  Just sign-up on the activity board by the cafeteria, or go to the Jazz Club page on the WMS website for more information and to contact the band leader, Mr. Wilkin.

  • Hey, 8th graders! The WMS Yearbook Staff is conducting a SUPERLATIVE voting quiz — EXCLUSIVELY for 8th graders from now until October 23rd. To participate, just scan the QR codes located in the 8th grade trailers and cast your vote. Superlatives are super!!

  • The WMS Kindness Club’s “Hurricane Relief Fundraiser” is up and running!  All cash and check donations can be left in the donation boxes in each grade level holding area before TA.  And remember — whichever grade raises the most will be eligible for a TA drawing.  So do your part for Hurricane Relief — because every penny counts.

  • Attention 6th and 7th graders — It’s time to GET DOWN and BOOOOOOOO-gie!   Just in time for Halloween, the WMS Spook-tacular Skeleton Stomp is coming at you — courtesy of the WMS PTA.  The 7th grade party is scheduled for TUESDAY, October 23rd; and the 6th grade party is one week later, TUESDAY, October 30th — both during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria — so you can still take the late bus home. There will be food, a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, prizes and more. And please — despite the Halloween theme — NO COSTUMES.
