  • We begin today with WOLF PACK PRIDE!  The girls Ultimate Frisbee season come to an end last Thursday with a lightning-shortened game against Gunston Middle School.  Despite DOMINATING the possessions and some truly outstanding frisbee handling by 8th graders Isabelle and Abby — the Wolves lost a heart-breaker:  3 to 1.  Even still, it was a GREAT season for girls Frisbee, and they represented the Wolf Pack with PRIDE.  Way to go, frisbee wolves!! [clap]

  • And speaking of frisbees — it’s YOUR TURN, gentlemen!  Practices for the Boys Ultimate Frisbee Team begin TODAY after school in the gym.  Interested “spinners” are encouraged to sign-up on the activities board by the cafeteria — or just come on by.  Whether you’re an old-pro or a first-timer — ALL are welcome!  See Mr. Smolinski with any questions.
    .
  • The WMS Kindness Club’s “Hurricane Relief Fundraiser” kicked-off TODAY before school, and will continue until FRIDAY, October 26th.  Donation boxes will be available every morning in each grade-level holding area before TA.  Just look for your counselor to make a donation — either cash or checks are happily accepted.  All money raised will go to relief organizations providing essential help and services to the victims of Hurricanes Florence and Hurricane Michael.
    .
And to make things a little more interesting — how about a friendly competition?  If YOUR GRADE raises the most donations, then EVERY TA in that grade will be entered into a raffle — and whichever TA is picked from the winning grade will receive a special token of gratitude.  Anything you can give will make a HUGE difference for Hurricane Relief.

  • Want to make some music?  The Symphony Club will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 and 2 in the band room. This “melodious” group is composed of band, orchestra, and chorus members — and it’s open to EVERYONE with a love of music. So check it out! See Ms. Tuttle with any questions.
    .
  • Attention technology Wolves. There will NOT be a TSA meeting today. Again, the Technology Student Association will not be meeting this afternoon — but get ready for next MONDAY to design and build… SOMETHING.  See Mr. Dudek with any questions.
    .
  • Hey, 8th graders! The WMS Yearbook Staff is conducting a SUPERLATIVE voting quiz — EXCLUSIVELY for 8th graders from now until October 23rd. To participate, just scan the QR codes located in the 8th grade trailers and cast your vote. Superlatives are super!!
    .
  • A quick reminder that the WMS tennis team will hold its last practice TODAY — in preparation for the County Singles and Doubles tournaments on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Get ready to play!
    .
  • Sister Circle will be hosting its first meeting of the year this THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 201. All young women are welcome — new members and old, friends and allies. So come out for a little Girl Talk — and a lot of fun activities! See Ms. Cameron with any questions.
    .
  • Put your creative genius to the test! The annual PTA Reflections Contest is now accepting submissions from all grade-level students. This year’s theme is: “Heroes Around Me.” Projects can include Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. Submission forms can be found in the WMS Library, and projects must be received by October 25th. Now go create something awesome!!

  • Attention 6th and 7th graders — It’s time to GET DOWN and BOOOOOOOO-gie!   Just in time for Halloween, the WMS Spook-tacular Skeleton Stomp is coming at you — courtesy of the WMS PTA.  The 7th grade party is scheduled for TUESDAY, October 23rd; and the 6th grade party is one week later, TUESDAY, October 30th — both during ASP 1 and 2 in the cafeteria — so you can still take the late bus home. There will be food, a DJ and dancing, games, raffles, prizes and more. And please — despite the Halloween theme — NO COSTUMES.
