- Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera, everybody — because this FRIDAY is PICTURE DAY at WMS!! Student photographs will be taken during all PE classes, so be sure to bring your “picture order form” with you. Extras forms are located in the office, or you can download a form from the WMS website. See Ms. Argenal in the main office with any questions. Say cheese!!
. - Calling all bi-lingual 7th and 8th graders! If you know how to read and write in any language other than English, you should take the “Credit by Exam.” It’s an easy way to earn up to FOUR high school credits. The test is scheduled for November 6th at Wakefield High School — but registration is open NOW. See your grade-level counselor or a HILT teacher for more information, or to sign-up.
. - Calling all MUNners! The Williamsburg Model UN Club is preparing for another big year of conferences and debates. Returning members are invited to the first meeting — TODAY during ASP 1 in room 202. There’s a lot to discuss and plan — so don’t miss it! See Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
. - Assuming the weather cooperates this afternoon, we’ve got a few athletics announcements for you. First up, the WMS Tennis team will once again attempt to get into the “swing.” Tryouts for 7th and 8th graders are scheduled for TODAY, while 6th graders will now tryout on MONDAY. Interested female and male athletes should meet at the bus loop after school, then everyone will be WALKING over to the Yorktown tennis courts. Transportation will be available following practice for any student that needs a late bus. Be sure to bring your racket — and a can of balls if you have one. And if anyone is UNABLE to attend your scheduled tryout day — please contact the coach, Mr. Seeger, about rescheduling.
. - GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!! Boys Soccer is ALSO hoping to kick-it into gear this week. Tryouts are scheduled for TODAY on the turf fields from 2:30 to 4. And they’ll continue on MONDAY following the first round of cuts. Come dressed and ready to play! See Mr. Witte with any questions.
. - And finally today — The 6th grade “new student group” will be hosting its first meeting this FRIDAY during TA and WOLF time in room 228. Participants need to check-in with their TA teachers first, but then should proceed immediately to room 228 before the announcements begin. Contact your counselors — either Mr. Tuttle or Ms. Kenney – with any questions.
