  • BOO! Didn’t mean to scare you — but can you BELIEVE it’s almost Halloween?!  TOMORROW is All Hallow’s Eve — and students are encouraged to dress up in your best costume for the occasion. However, there are some important guidelines that you need to follow. Basically, costumes must conform to the WMS dress code, not offend anyone, no weapons, no masks, and nothing inappropriate. And if you’re not sure — ask a teacher or administrator. If your costume crosses the line, you’re not in trouble — but a school official may ask you get “in line.” Thanks for understanding, and have a Happy Halloween!!
    .
  • And once you’ve picked out your Halloween costume, be sure to strut your “spooky” stuff right here at WMS for the annual PE Halloween Costume Contest!  All grade level Health and PE classes will be participating TOMORROW — so get your “scary” on, and Ghoul Luck!!
    .
  • Brush your hair, wash your face, and smile for the camera, everybody — because next MONDAY is PICTURE DAY at WMS!! Student photographs will be taken during PE class, so be sure to bring your “picture order form” with you. Extras are located in the office, or you can download a form from the WMS website.  See Ms. Argenal with any questions. Say cheese!!
    .
  • Calling all dancers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, and visual artists! The PTA Reflections Contest has been EXTENDED until this FRIDAY. So put your creative genius to the test and develop a project around this year’s theme: “Within Reach.” Just get a submission form and turn-in your entry to the “Reflections” box in the library. Go to the PTA website for more information.
    .
  • SOCKTOBER continues on this month! And the WMS Kindness Club encourages everyone to donate socks, gloves, mittens, hats, scarves, jackets and blankets to help the homeless in Arlington over the winter. Just drop your items in your TA donation box to participate. And the TA in each grade with the most donations wins a TA breakfast! So be kind, and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
    .
  • How would you like to be featured in a special section of the yearbook this year? The WMS yearbook is still accepting pictures for both the “Summer Vacation” and “Now & Then” sections of its annual publication. If you’ve got some fun pics, just email them to elizabeth.briones@apsva.us or bring them down to room 136. See Ms. Briones with any questions.
