- Hey, everybody — are your ready to be KIND? The WMS Kindness Club is proud to present: SOCKTOBER!! All month long, students and staff are encouraged to donate new socks for the homeless. But that’s not all: new gloves, mittens, hats, and scarves, plus new or gently used jackets and blankets are also welcome donations.
.
Just place the items in your TA donation box to participate. And the TA in each grade with the most donations wins a TA breakfast! So do your part and be kind to those in need. Together, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
. - Calling all Math Lovers! The “countdown” is on for Math Counts! The first meeting will be next TUESDAY during ASP 1 in room WW 1. Students from all grades are welcome to come and have fun with numbers. See Ms. Janney or Mr. Mencarini with any questions. You can “count” on it!
. - Latinas Leading Tomorrow — otherwise known as the LLT — will be holding its first meeting of the year next THURSDAY during ASP 1 in room 214. Members and allies are encouraged to come and join the discussion! See Ms. Winter with any questions.
. - The Best Buddies Club will have its first meeting next FRIDAY during WOLF TIME in room 108. This inspirational club is your chance to really make a difference in our school — and with our amazing kids. Just get a pass from your TA teacher, then come on down and join the fun and games. See Ms. Rogers with any questions. Thanks, Buddy!!
. - Did you know that this week marks the half-way point of the first quarter? Teachers will be submitting their mid-term grades by the end of the day. So if you have any missing assignments or make-up work to complete: it’s NOW OR NEVER. And if you’re not sure, just TALK to your classroom teachers. Remember, they really do want you to be successful — you’ve just got to SELF-ADVOCATE. Get it done, wolves!
. - Listen up, Wolves! That grungy old sweatshirt you’re wearing has GOT to go. It’s time to show your Wolf Pack Pride — in STYLE! And WMS PE Department has just the thing you need. Check it out!

- Finally today, Williamsburg is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month! Roughly 55-MILLION people in the United States are of Hispanic or Latina descent. This month gives us an opportunity to recognize and learn all about these amazing cultures — which have made such an enormous impact on our country for HUNDREDS of years.
.
And as an introduction to Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ve got a question for you: do you know the difference between “Hispanic” and “Latina?” Well, you’re about to find out! Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, amigos!
