- Attention WMS! The Virginia Standards of Learning are set to begin this WEDNESDAY — and will continue until June 9th. The SOLs will involve every student and staff member in school — so it’s important that everyone knows what to expect.
.
To learn your testing days and location, either check with your TA teacher or the posting boards located by the cafeteria and library. And on your testing days — you may ONLY bring the following items: a pencil or pen, a book to read, and earbuds ONLY if you have an approved audio accommodation for the test.
.
You may NOT bring: backpacks or cinch sacks; electronic devises such as phones, tablets, watches, game consoles and the like; nor any water or snacks. And of course, there is zero tolerance for CHEATING. And even on days when you’re NOT testing, please remember to be quiet and respectful in the halls.
.
Any other questions or concerns? Check with your teachers or grade level counselors. Good luck on your tests!
. - The WMS Library will be CLOSED to students — both during and after school — beginning TODAY and continuing until the end of the SOL testing window. However, library services will continue. Carts for returning books are located by the library and cafeteria. Also, if you’d like to check out a new book, students can request specific titles by clicking on the “Book Checkout Request” tab in the “Library” section of the WMS website. Those books will then be delivered to your TA as soon as they’re available.
. - And speaking of books, this is going to blow your mind: as of this morning, there are 692 overdue books here at WMS. TA teachers will be handing out overdue notices this morning. If you receive one — one more — PLEASE return your book to the cart outside of the library or cafeteria. Books are for everyone — so bring them back when you’re done!!
. - Hey, 7th grade! How would you like to attend one of the top-10 High Schools in the country? Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology will be hosting an informational session next MONDAY in the auditorium. TJ officials will be on hand to explain the admissions process, and any other questions you may have about this incredible school. Interested students should sign-up in the main office, or see Mr. Tuttle with any questions.
. - And now for some WOLF PACK PRIDE! The 2017 Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championship was this weekend — and a group of Williamsburg Wolves were at the head of the pack. Congratulations to 8th graders Annie H., Kathryn D., Ella G., Natasha M., and Kirsten G. — for taking FIRST PLACE in their grueling water race. Way to go, rowing wolves!! [clap]
. - And now, it’s an exciting time in the virtual world of gaming and technology — and here to tell us all about it is WOLF-TV’s: GAMESHARKEY!!
