- The Writing SOL continues TODAY — and here’s the schedule you need to know. This morning, the Cavs and Rams are up first for the Writing portion of the SOL, and on Tuesday it’ll be the Hokies and Patriot’s turn. Also today, students will begin make-up testing for the Multiple Choice portion. As always, testers will NOT be allowed to bring backpacks, water, snacks nor ANY electronic devices — including phones, iPads, smart watches. or anything else. But you SHOULD bring a pencil or pen, and a BOOK to read in case you finish early — but again, no electronic readers. If you are not sure where you’re testing, just ask your TA teacher or check the postings outside of the cafeteria, the Gym, and the English trailer. Good luck on the SOL, 8th graders!
- And even if you’re NOT testing today — students are reminded to be QUIET and CONSIDERATE when walking through the halls between classes. Teachers will be posted by the Gym, the World Language hall, and the Library to ensure that EVERYONE acts responsibly. Also, it is VERY important that all phones and iPads remain OFF and disconnected from the WMS Wi-Fi during testing. Thanks for your help, wolves!
- Sister Circle will be meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room 233. Participants will be discussing strategies for effective leadership. Group members AND supporters are welcome! See Ms. Pointer with any questions.
- The Model UN Club will be holding a pair of IMPORTANT meetings this week: on TUESDAY, 8th graders will be preparing for WOLFMUN, then on THURSDAY participants be working on TECHMUN — both during ASP 1 in room 202. Please see Mrs. Carlson with any questions.
- And speaking of the Model UN — The MUNners pizza fundraiser is back! This FRIDAY after school in the main lobby and by the cafeteria — pizza and cookies will be on sale for just 2-dollars! All money raised will go towards Model UN events and conferences. Get it while it’s hot!
- The WMS March Madness “Tournament of Books” rolls on this week — with the “Elite Eight”, and a whole new group of matchups for you to vote on. For more information about each contestant, just scan the QR codes by the cafeteria. Once you’ve got your picks, submit them using the Tournament of Books QR code, or just go to the WOLF-TV section on the WMS website. Get your Elite Eight picks in by this FRIDAY, and may the best book win!!
