- Let’s get coding, Williamsburg! It’s Day 2 of the “Global Hour of Code.” To participate, just update your iPad to iOS 10, download “Swift Playgrounds” from the App Catalogue and then you’re ready to begin! Special “coding” students will be visiting every TA this morning to provide technical help. Or you can contact Ms. Spanos with any questions. Now be the future, and code, code CODE!!
- Say Cheese! Picture Day “make-ups” are TODAY in the auditorium, starting during TA and going until 10 A.M. Students getting re-takes should check-in with their teachers and then go!! So whether you were absent or just having a bad hair day for the first go around — this is your last chance to get a good picture. Students may pick-up order forms in the office, or download a copy from the WMS website.
- Read any good books lately? The Teen Advisory Board — a.k.a. TAB — will be meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches in the library. So grab your lunch and let’s have chat about some Totally Awesome Books!!
- Calling all 6th graders — it’s time to get your GLOW on!! The 6th Grade “Glow Party” is TODAY from 2:30 to 4 P.M. in the Cafeteria. There will be a DJ, dancing, junk food galore, a photo booth, & lots of prizes! And in keeping with the “glow” theme, be sure to wear white, neon, or anything with glow in the dark designs. The 6th Grade Glow Party — raise the roof!!
- Wolfpack Pride is going strong! Your student-athletes have a pair of away games this afternoon. The girls soccer team is taking its unbeaten season to Thomas Jefferson Middle School. And the boys basketball team is looking to make it two-in-a-row against Gunston. Now let’s get hyped for the blue-and-white. Go get ’em, wolves!! [clap]
- All “SWATT” Team meetings are CANCELLED for the rest of December. But beginning in January 2017, SWATT will meet every THURSDAY during grade level lunches. Please see Ms. Solomon with any questions.
- Teen Trendsetters has been CANCELLED for today — but meeting will resume next Tuesday as usual. Again, There will be no Teen Trendsetters this week. Please see Ms. Clayton with any questions.
- Pizza Friday is Back! The Model UN Club will be selling pizza and cookies for just 2-dollars this FRIDAY after school in the Main Lobby and outside the Cafeteria. All money raised will go to support the upcoming UN conferences. Come hungry!
- The Black History Month WRITING CONTEST is now accepting submissions! Here’s the challenge: Write an essay about contributions made by African-Americans that make a positive impact on your daily life through science, technology, education, politics, or the arts. The contest is open to all students in all grades. Please see Ms. Pointer or your English teacher for more information, and to submit your entry. Good luck, writing Wolves!!
