  • It’s the morning after Halloween, and I’m betting that a few of you are suffering from a “candy hangover.”  But don’t worry — I’ve got the cure:  a TA “DONUT PARTY!”  It’s time to select this year’s first “Donut Hero” — courtesy of the PTA No Frill Fundraiser.  Everyone who donated was entered into the drawing.  And now, to choose our lucky winner, please welcome Principal Laurie!
  • Good morning, wolves!  I am so pleased to be here today.  The PTA “No Frills Fundraiser” supports numerous WMS programs and events — and I’ve been BLOWN AWAY by all the generous contributions so far.  As a “thank you” for your donations, the PTA will be selecting one student each week to win a Donut Hero TA breakfast, plus a gift card for your parents.   So let’s get right to it.  Our first Donut Hero is: ______________.  Congratulations!  The PTA will be in touch with your TA teacher to schedule the party.  Keep those donations coming everybody — and YOU could be the next Donut Hero!
  • Thanks, Mr. Laurie!  And if YOU or your parents would like to support the PTA, just go to the “WMS PTA” link on the WMS homepage, then select “No Frills Fundraiser” to make a donation.
  • There were some AMAZING costumes spotted around school yesterday.  And not just on the kids!  In case you missed it, the WMS admin team went “old school cartoon” with their costumes yesterday — dressing up as an incredibly life-like Mystery Incorporated from Scooby-Doo!.
    .
Congratulations to 8th grader Sean K. from Mr. McDermott’s TA for submitting the winning costume idea.  You’ve earned yourself a Wolf Paw!  Just ask for Ms. McCarthy in the main office — and good job!!
  • Read any good books lately?  The Teen Advisory Board — TAB — is meeting TODAY during all grade level lunches in the library.  Students are invited to get a pass, bring a lunch, and discuss some Totally Awesome Books!

  • Make a difference in an Elementary schooler’s life! “Teen Trendsetters” is still accepting 7th and 8th grade students to help tutor Discovery Elementary School kids in reading. There will be a meeting TODAY during ASP 1 in room WW 18 for all interested students. There WILL be candy!
  • The Yorktown High School Girls lacrosse team will be hosting an informational meeting for interested athletes this THURSDAY at 3:30 P.M. in Patriot Hall. Meet the Coach, learn about upcoming try-outs, and get important off-season information. Contact Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
  • Donate to Leo Club’s Annual Coat Drive for the Homeless! Collection boxes are located in the library, and students are encouraged donate new or gently-used coats, scarves, gloves and socks. YOUR HELP can make all the difference to a person-in-need this winter!!
