- Today we will be following the B-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 2, 4, 5, and 6. But there are NO WOLF TIME classes today — so all students should return to their TAs for Wolf Time. Again, this is a B-Day — and Wolf Time will be in your TA. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all Anime-niacs! Today’s Anime Club meeting has been CANCELLED. But meetings will resume next Wednesday at the regular time with a “Digital Art Workshop.” It’s going to be Anime-zing! But once again, there is no Anime Club today. Contact Ms. Armistead with any questions.
. - The “snowcrete” is finally melting, but it will never be forgotten — especially if we include it in the WMS Yearbook! If you have any pictures from all those snow days — like sledding, shoveling, or playing in the snow — please share them by clicking the submission link on the WMS homepage. And your picture could be featured in the 2026 yearbook! See Ms. McFerran with any questions.
. - Give a helping hand to those in need! The WMS Helping Hands Club is hosting a Food Drive for the Arlington Food Assistance Center — from now through Thursday. Students are encouraged to donate canned goods and pantry items to the collection bins located in each grade-level hallway.
.
But wait — there’s MORE! Whichever grade donates the most food will get a POPSICLE PARTY! So you can help people AND get a sweet treat. As of now, the 6th grade is in the lead. But there’s still time for the 7th or 8th grades to catch up. Who’s going to win? Show your donation domination, Williamsburg, and give to the Helping Hands Food Drive!
. - And now it’s time for WOLF PACK PRIDE!! This winter, a number of WMS music students were selected to participate in a pair of big concerts — the Honors Chorus and the District Choir — and they did an AMAZING job!
.
23-WMS students performed in the Honors Chorus at Wakefield HS on January 24th — featuring students from all across APS. And 19-WMS students performed in the District Choir at Herndon High School on February 7th — featuring HUNDREDS of singers from all over Northern Virginia.
.
Bravo to all of our featured singers. Way to go, musical Wolves!! [clap]
. - And now it’s time for Black History Month TRIVIA. Listen closely, because we’ll be testing you on these at the end of the month. And whichever grade gets the most correct answers will earn bonus points for the WMS Pep Rally this Spring. Here we go!
.
Red means STOP, and Green means GO!! In 1923, an African American inventor named Garrett Morgan created the first TRAFFIC SIGNAL. His design used moving arms that told drivers when to stop and when to go. Modern day traffic lights are based on Garrett Morgan’s design, and are used all over the world to help keep drivers safe.
. - What’s that buzz? It’s the WMS Geo Bee! Our resident geographer, Mr. McDermott, is here to tell us all about it.
.
Roll Tape!!
