  • Today is an EARLY RELEASE day, so the schedule is a little different than usual.  We will be following a modified C-Day schedule. That means TA ends at 7:55, and then you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7.  So be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class.  Again, this is a modified C-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.

  • It’s Kindness Week here at WMS.  And our theme is:  ‘Make Kindness the Norm’. Today’s challenge is:  unexpected kindness. Make someone’s day — quietly — by leaving a positive sticky note on a locker or desk, or writing a short thank-you note to a teacher or staff member. Small acts, big impact!

  • Calling all artists!  WMS has an afterschool art course that is open to all grade levels.  The first class is TOMORROW in room 127 during ASP 1 and 2 — and continues every Thursday through the second semester.  Interested artists are welcome to attend!  See Mr. Skrzypek or Ms. Hogwood with any questions.

  • And now it’s time for Black History Month TRIVIA.  Listen closely, because we’ll be testing you on these at the end of the month.  And whichever grade gets the most correct answers will earn bonus points for the WMS Pep Rally this Spring.  Here we go!

Did you know that the very first home security system was invented by an African American woman named Marie Van Brittan Brown? On December 2nd, 1969, she and her husband were awarded a patent for their revolutionary home security system — which utilized television surveillance for the first time. The technology used in Marie Van Brittan Brown’s invention laid the foundation for the Ring Cameras that millions of people use today.
