- Today we will be following the C-Day schedule. That means you’ll be attending periods 1 through 7 — so be sure to double-check that you’ve got the correct books and binders for class. And remember, there is NO Wolf Time today. Again, this is a C-Day. See your TA teacher with any questions.
. - Calling all basket-ballers!! If you’re planning to try-out for the girls basketball team, you MUST attend one of the tryout dates this week — Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Plus, you need to have a current physical on file to participate. See Mr. Clark with any questions.
. - Takedown, reversal, pin!! The WMS co-ed Wrestling team is looking for wrestlers! There are no tryouts, and ANYONE can join — whether you’re an old pro or just getting started. Interested wrestlers are encouraged to come to practice THIS WEEK after school in the gym. But you must have a physical on file to participate. See Ms. Hogwood with any questions.
. - Calling all Anime-niacs! Just a reminder that there is NO Anime Club meeting this week NOR next week. Meetings will resume on Wednesday, January 21st with a digital art and illustration workshop. Contact Ms Armistead with any questions.
. - Did you miss Picture Day last fall, or did your picture not turn out so well? Then you’re in luck — because “Picture Make-Up Day” is scheduled this next WEDNESDAY, January 14th, in the Auxiliary Gym. If you never got a picture this year, then you can just go on down. But if it’s a retake, you must bring your unwanted picture packet with you to exchange. And remember — if you don’t take a picture, then you WON’T be included in the WMS yearbook. See Dr. Koval with any questions. And say cheese!
. - ’Tis the season to be giving! The WMS SCA is collecting winter clothing for families in need throughout the Metro DC region. Requested items include gently used winter boots, coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. Donation bins can be found in the main lobby and by the cafeteria until this FRIDAY. See Ms. Dittimus with any questions.
. - And now for a “wellness tip” from our school clinic! It’s cold, flu, and covid season again — so here are three simple strategies for keeping our shared environment HEALTHY and SAFE! First: WASH YOUR HANDS multiple times a day — especially before and after you eat. Second: Fully cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. And third: if you’re not feeling well, please STAY HOME. Together, we can stop these germs and viruses BEFORE they spread. See our school nurse with any questions.
. - Who’s ready for a fantastic show?! The WMS theater department is proud to present our Winter play: The Snow Queen — based on the classic story by Hans Christian Anderson. Performances are scheduled for next week — Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th, both at 7pm in the auditorium.
.
Tickets are just 5-dollars per person, and can be purchased in advance on the WMS website using SchoolCash — or you can buy them at the door using regular cash. See Mr. Randle with any questions, and we hope you enjoy the show!
